21'
Shocking backpass by Daniele Rugani to Gianluigi Buffon, it is well away from the keeper and forces the veteran skipper to scramble across and he just manages to kick the ball out for a throw-in, rather than conceding a corner. Sloppy play by the Juve centre-back.

The goalkeeper can only put it foot through the ball and it hits the Juve striker, but fortunately for the visitors it goes out for a throw-in.
8'
Juventus are starting to dominate possession here, however Cagliari are doing well at keeping them in their own half and limiting any dangerous passes into the feet of Dybala or Gonzalo Higuain. We're underway!
Good afternoon and welcome to our LIVE match commentary of the Serie A game between Juventus and Cagliari.
Juventus have dominated Italian football for the last few years, but they could see their dominance slip this season. Having sold Leonardo Bonucci to rivals AC Milan this summer, they look strong challengers for the title, as do Napoli and Roma. They were beaten by Lazio in the Super Cup on Sunday and have looked vulnerable at the back this summer without Bonucci. However, many would expect them to record a comfortable victory over Cagliari today in their opening game of Serie A.
Despite appearing weakened in defence, Juve have reinforced their attacking options, and the capture of Douglas Costa could prove to be a brilliant move. They’ve signed him on loan from Bayern with a view to a permanent deal, and he could really impress in Serie A, if he is able to hold down a first team spot. Having added Federico Bernardeschi too, they could be phenomenal going forward.
Furthermore, Juve completed the signing of Paris Saint-Germain midfielder Blaise Matuidi this week. The midfielders arrival adding to the likes of Federico Bernardeschi, Wojciech Szczesny, Mattia De Sciglio and Douglas Costa.
Meanwhile, Cagliari finished 11th in Serie A last season, an impressive feat for the newly promoted side. They were largely helped by striker Marco Borriello, who netted 16 goals in Serie A and 20 across all competitions, but arguably their Achilles’ heel was their poor defence, which saw them concede 76 goals. This was the third worst record last season, with only Palermo (77) and Pescara (81) conceding more goals and they were relegated.
CAGLIARI SUBS: Crosta, Daga; Ceppitelli, Miangue, Romagna; Cossu, Dessena, João Pedro; Giannetti, Sau

A perfect start to the new season by Juventus as they clinch a three-nil victory over Cagliari at the Allianz Stadium. Mandzukic and Dybala made it two-nil before the break, before Higuain got on the scoresheet midway through the second half. Cagliari rarely threatened Juve today, however they did have a good 10 minute spell at the end of the first half, when they were awarded a penalty after the referee consulted VAR. The visitors couldn’t capitalise as Farias saw his poor penalty effort saved by Buffon. A comfortable victory for the reigning champions in their opening game.
