The free-kick is eventually taken and the first header away falls to Griezmann, who smashes a shot wide of the mark and the cheer is as if Qarabag have stolen a winner.
90' +4
B. Hüseynov gets yellow.
To add insult to injury, Huseynov has been booked as he hobbles towards the sideline.
90' +3
Badavi Huseynov, who made the challenge, is getting a lot of treatment and a stretcher is coming on. Qarabag are going to finish this match with NINE men and we're going to have additional time on top of the added time.
90' +2
Amidst all the drama, we're well into the three minutes added on and there isn't too long left. Atletico do have a free-kick in a very dangerous area though and Qarabag will have to remain firm for one more attack.
90'
They're so, so close to stealing this game. Atletico are at sixes and sevens, with Guerrier not quite getting the ball under control and seeing another chance for the hosts go begging. Simeone's side are fortunate to be drawing this game.
89'
Sehic is a man on a mission, charging off his line to collect every aerial ball that enters his box and dramatically throwing himself to ground afterwards to waste as much time as he possibly can. The fans are loving it and he's been the stand-out performer this evening.
86'
If you want evidence of just how damaging not winning this game could be for Atletico Madrid, then you just need to look to the fact that Godin is pretty much playing alongside Torres.
Every single tackle is being met with a rupture of noise from the home fans and it would be heartbreaking if they were to concede now. Just a few minutes away from what would be a historic result for football in Azerbaijan.
85'
T. Elyounoussi enters the game and replaces Míchel .
Final change of the night for the hosts sees former Hoffenheim man Tarik Elyounoussi come on to replace Michel.
84'
That's the chance! Sehic has been fantastic all game but he's fumbled the ball on the line and sees Gabi nick the ball. The captain flicks a ball into the six-yard box where Torres awaits and it's a blatant push in the back on the veteran striker but the referee, and the official behind the goal, give nothing.
83'
The end is in sight for the hosts and they know it. They're more than happy to allow the seconds to tick by, with Atletico knowing that their time is rapidly running out.
Minute
Description
79'
Qarabag can't quite find the final pass, with substitute Guerrier finding space down the flank but not finding a team-mate with his cut-back. Still, they remain the side who look most likely to score.
77'
Perhaps debatable but if you're on a yellow card, you don't give the referee a decision to make. He had Godin beaten, there wasn't enough in the challenge and it's a stupid decision. He can only blame himself and he may have cost his side the chance of a historic result.
76'
It's a very strange decision from Ndlovu to go to ground there, particularly as Godin looked to be beaten by the touch. There is contact but it's minimal and Ndlovu, who had beaten his man and would have been one-on-one with Oblak, pays the price for a ridiculous decision.
75'
D. Ndlovu gets a second yellow card and is sent off.
Oh it's a huge decision! Ndlovu is gone! The striker has been a threat throughout the game and it was another big chance for the striker, who cuts inside and throws himself to ground after a challenge from Godin. There's no contact at all and the striker receives a second yellow card. What a waste!
74'
The issue with this set-up for Atletico though is that Griezmann is the man that Qarabag fear the most and he's out wide on the left, where he'll struggle to find an opening to score.
72'
Fernando Torres enters the game and replaces K. Gameiro.
Á. Correa enters the game and replaces Y. Carrasco.
The other change is therefore Gameiro off and Torres on, a substitution that should probably have been made a lot earlier in the half. Atletico will hope it will pay off though.
Right then, Atletico complete their changes to boast an extremely threatening front three; consisting of Griezmann, Fernando Torres and Angel Correa, the latter of whom replaces Carrasco.
71'
J. Rzeźniczak enters the game and replaces M. Medvedev.
Another change for Qarabag sees Medvedev replaced by Jakub Rzezniczak, a defensive change that suggests the former may have a bit of a knock.
Closer and closer for Qarabag! Again another counter-attack, again Ndovlu is the threat. Superb footwork makes room for the South African but he can't find the finish from just inside the area with plenty of company around him, firing over the bar.
69'
D. Guerrier enters the game and replaces Pedro Henrique.
First chance of the game for Qarabag sees Haitian international Donald Guerrier replace Pedro Henrique, who looks exhausted after putting in a superb shift.
68'
Qarabag look like the most likely to score, after another threatening counter-attack, but Ndovlu doesn't quite have the speed to get away from his marker.
67'
It does look like Atletico have changed shape. Carrasco is now on the right with Griezmann on the left, leaving Gameiro to lead the line.
66'
Ndovlu is receiving treatment inside the Qarabag penalty area after clashing heads with Gimenez but he's up and running now, so will be able to continue.
64'
T. Partey enters the game and replaces N. Gaitán.
Gaitan has failed to become an asset in this match and is subsequently taken off, with Thomas Partey coming on in his place. It could signal a change in formation to a more attacking set-up, pushing Carrasco forward in a 4-3-3.
Huge chance for Qarabag! Pedro Henrique gets on the end pass and has the goal at his mercy. There is still pressure on him though and he cannot threaten Oblak, although the home support is deafening.
62'
An hour gone and Atletico continue to be poor. It's a very strange display for them and there is a big chance they'll miss out on a place in the knock-out stages if they do not win here and they're giving a lot of encouragement to Qarabag, who see Almeida raise the noise levels inside the stadium as he strikes a shot from distance straight into the arms of Oblak.
60'
It's a decent opportunity to try a pop from goal and Carrasco stands over the ball with Griezmann. The latter lofts a ball over the wall towards Diego Godin but it's easily caught by Sehic and Godin is furious with the delivery.
59'
D. Ndlovu gets yellow.
That's the second yellow of the night for Qarabag, again for a challenge on Carrasco, as the Belgian skips past Ndlovu and tumbles to ground.
58'
Having looked more direct at the start of the interval, Atletico have slipped back into a style of play which is far too pedestrian and slow. They're electing to try and pass the ball into the box from wide areas, rather than simply crossing the ball. It's far too complicated for the visitors, who've looked a shadow of their normal side this evening.
56'
Another appeal for a penalty, this time it's Qarabag. Vrsaljko and Ndlovu come together in the area but there's nothing really in that at all, so the officials were right to keep wave away the protests. It is though further evidence that the hosts remain a threat.
55'
Anticipate we may see some changes for Atletico Madrid soon and Kevin Gameiro may well be the first man sacrificed. The French striker hasn't really been a threat at all in this game and doesn't have the same sort of partnership in attack that Fernando Torres does.
54'
Well, Atletico Madrid get the ball in the back of the net following that free-kick as Griezmann strikes a low effort into the far corner of the net. However, the offside flag was correctly raised.
53'
Míchel gets yellow.
First yellow of the game goes the way of Michel for a pull back on Carrasco.
51'
Big shout for handball there as Carrasco benefits from sloppy play from Qarabag and touches the ball into the area, where it seemed to have struck the hand of Qara Qarayev. Nothing doing though.
49'
Qarabag still do pose a threat on the counter-attack and Atletico need to remain wary of that, particularly when Felipe Luis and Sime Vrsaljko push forward.
47'
Immediately a much better look from Atletico Madrid, who seem to be a lot more direct. Carrasco already has looked more promising than he did for the entirety of the first period.
46'
Back underway for the second-half, where we'll expect to see a lot more from Atletico Madrid in this must win match.
45'
Atletico are likely to face a very angry Simeone at half-time and he doesn't strike you as the sort of person you'd want to be on the wrong end of. To be fair though, it's his tactical set-up that isn't working.
42'
Another view of that Griezmann attempt and it's very, very poor from him. He doesn't ask enough of the goalkeeper with his effort and strikes his attempt far too central.
39'
Best chance of the game but Sehic is still unbeatable! Gameiro, at the second attempt, pokes a ball through to Griezmann and you'd put his house on the Frenchman scoring but the Qarabag stopper pulls off a top-class save. Then from the resulting corner, the ball drops to Gimenez in plenty of room but he volleys wide of the mark. At least one of those chances should have been taken!
38'
Remember earlier when I said Richard Almeida was controlling the middle of the park? Well, he's changed his tune and is now being extremely wasteful in possession. He's sloppily given the ball away on a number of occasions, inviting pressure onto his defence.
36'
Another save from Sehic but it's a comfortable one. Saul, who scored the opening goal against Barcelona at the weekend, sees the ball drop to him around the penalty mark and he pokes a header towards goal that's comfortably caught by the Qarabag stopper.
34'
Chance for Qarabag and it goes begging, again. Filipe Luis sloppily gives the ball away to Mahir Madatov and the midfielder sees a shot cannon off the defender to go behind for a corner. Just like their first set-piece though, they try something cute and give the ball away sloppily.
32'
Danger for Atletico Madrid is the longer the game remains goalless, the more confidence Qarabag will find and the louder the home support will become. They have taken control of possession but they do look vulnerable, particularly on the counter-attack.
29'
Well, Atletico have certainly woken up then. There's certainly still improvements that need to be made though as they've created just one clear-cut opportunity, which Carrasco should have scored, but they're not quite dominating as many would have expected.
27'
The first big chance of the game and Atletico should have the lead! Yannick Carrasco is unleashed and beats the last defender to surge through on goal. He delays his shot though and sees Sehic save the ball well, before Qarabag deal with the resulting corner as they hoof the ball away from inside the six-yard box after Jose Maria Gimenez' lame header.
25'
Better again from Atletico, who finally have a shot. Luis cuts the ball back to Nicolas Gaitan just inside the area but the ball is just behind the Argentine winger, who lashes a shot well over the bar. At least they're becoming a threat in the attacking third though.
24'
First real opening for Atletico Madrid, who quickly carve through the Qarabag defence with slick passing play. Griezmann combines with his strike partner Gameiro, who's touch is too heavy and allows Ibrahim Sehic to surge off his line and claim the ball.
22'
It's worth mentioning that at this stage in their last two matches, against Chelsea and Roma, Qarabag were two goals down. A considerable improvement from Gurban Gurbanov's side.
21'
In a midfield up against Saul Niguez and Gabi, Richard Almedia is running the show. With time in midfield, he's been the creative hub for everything that Qarabag have done and it's becoming obvious he'll be integral if the hosts are to get anything from this game.
20'
A very strange tactical set-up from Atletico this, as the back four are sitting extremely deep and leaving a lot of space for Qarabag to work with. It's left the Spaniard's midfield largely running around like headless chickens trying to get the ball, whilst Antoine Griezmann and Kevin Gameiro up-front are extremely isolated.
17'
Another threatening counter-attack from the hosts, who steal the ball in midfield and surge forward with intent. However, the pass through to Ndlovu doesn't quite find the striker and Atletico hold firm. Warning bells should be ringing for Simeone though.
15'
If you were expecting a dominating performance from Atletico Madrid right from the start, you'll certainly be disappointed. Qarabag have been by far the better team so far but haven't really created anything, which isn't too surprising given the ability of Atletico's defensive line.
12'
Qarabag's bright start has continued, hitting on the counter-attack to win a corner, but Richard Almeida drills a low cross towards the end of the area but it's easily dealt with by the Atletico Madrid. An absolute waste from the set-piece.
9'
Filipe Luis has shown his attacking intentions down the left-hand side and Atletico are trying to get going. They're not having much luck though and haven't asked too much of the hosts either, as they continue to be put under a lot of pressure by the Qarabag side.
7'
Probably the complete opposite of what Diego Simeone would have wanted to see from his side in the opening few minutes. Atletico Madrid haven't really seen much of the ball, whilst Qarabag are pinging passes around confidently. The noise levels continue to be a factor and the hosts seem to be growing in spirit.
4'
Certainly a lively start for Qarabag here, with Pedro Henrique and Dino Ndlovu combining to become a threat down the right. It comes to nothing but they've already shown they're not here to roll over and show their bellies, as they continue to throw men forward.
3'
A lot of noise for the home side here, who have struggled early on in their previous two group games. A goal before the break against Roma raised their spirits though and they'll look to keep Atletico Madrid at bay for as long as they can here.
1'
We're underway at the Baku Olympic Stadium! Qarabag get us underway, kicking from right to left.
Oh my word! An inch away from a spectacular end. Sehic's kick finds Elyounoussi in acres of space and he hits a ferocious effort first-time, which spins just over Oblak's bar.
Good afternoon and welcome to our LIVE text coverage of the Champions League's early game this evening, as Azerbaijani side Qarabag host Diego Simeone's Atletico Madrid.
Qarabag defeated Inter Baki 2-0 at the weekend, carrying on their form after victory before the international break, but they're yet to secure a point in the Champions League having been defeated by Chelsea 6-0 in their first group match before losing 2-1 to Roma a few weeks ago.
Atletico Madrid, meanwhile, also have work to do in the Champions League. A goalless draw with Roma was followed by defeat to Chelsea last time out and Simeone's side, who drew 1-1 with Barcelona at the weekend, are yet to taste defeat in La Liga but need to transfer that form into their continental campaign.
Qarabag have made wholesale changes from their last domestic outing, with Gurban Gurbanov introducing five fresh faces. Tarik Elyounoussi and Rahid Amirquliyev drop to the bench, with Arif Dashdemirov, Elvin Yunuszade and Elshan Abdullayev not selected. In their places enter Maksim Medvedev, Michel, Rasad Sadiqov, Ansi Agolli and Richard Almeida.
Simeone also makes numerous changes from the side that was held to a draw at the weekend by La Liga leaders Barcelona, with four changes overall. Juanfran and Stefan Savic are replaced in defence by Sime Vrsaljko and Jose Maria Gimenez, with Nicolas Gaitan replacing Koke out wide and Kevin Gameiro partnering Antoine Griezmann instead of Angel Correa.
Qarabag's man to watch this afternoon is certainly their striker Dino Ndlovu, who plays up-top on his own for this match. The South African international netted both goals at the weekend and provided the assist for Pedro Henrique's goal against Roma in the last Champions League match.
Atletico should have enough to secure a first Champions League victory this season though, which will be vital as Chelsea and Roma clash later this evening, and their attacking stars will fancy their chances of finding the net. Last season's semi-finalists are yet to score from open play though, with their only goal in the group stage coming from the penalty spot against Chelsea- a match they'd go on to lose after Alvaro Morata's equaliser and Michy Batshuayi's last minute winner.
No added time to end the first-half and a huge roar is let out by the home support, as Qarabag have held Atletico Madrid at bay. It's goalless at the interval and the hosts have largely looked to be the better side, although they're yet to truly test Jan Oblak. At the other end, Ibrahim Sehic has made a number of decent saves.
It's a considerable improvement for Qarabag, who've seen a lot of the ball and caused problems at the counter. There's still a lot of work to do though and the hosts will be wary of the response they could face in the second-half, where Atletico will surely come out with a lot more attacking intent.
Atletico Madrid have been woeful and Diego Simeone's tactical set-up hasn't worked. The defensive line is sitting far too deep, giving the midfield too much running to do and leaving Qarabag with plenty of space to work with. That's left the attack isolated, although Antoine Griezmann wasted the best chance of the half, and they do look extremely narrow- which is odd considering they have Nicolas Gaitan and Yannick Carrasco to exploit the flanks.
That's it! Qarabag have done it, their first ever point in the Champions League and they certainly deserve it- perhaps more. They kept Atletico Madrid quelled for the entirety of the match, limiting the Spanish giants to half-chances, and will have left Diego Simeone's side extremely frustrated.
Losing striker Dino Ndlovu in the second-half to a second bookable offence didn't keep Qarabag quiet going forward and they had plenty of opportunities to take all three points. They'll be no regret though, nobody gave them a chance this evening and they can hold their heads high after a historic result.
Atletico Madrid, on the other hand, will face an inquest. It's just two points from three matches in the Champions League this season and Simeone's men are now facing the real possibility of an early exit from this year's competition, something that seemed almost unimaginable for last year's semi-finalists. They deserved nothing from this game though and need to improve vastly if they're to beat Qarabag in the return match.
