Philippe Coutinho has scored a goal for Liverpool!
GOOOAAALLL! IT’S THREE-NIL! Coutinho finally has his goal after going close a few times this afternoon and the hosts are in complete control here. Firmino's effort cannons off the chest of Forster, and it falls perfectly for Coutinho, who is next to the penalty spot when firing the ball into the back of the net, he simply couldn’t miss!
66'
Southampton are struggling to get a touch of the ball at the moment, Liverpool are playing the ball around with ease and look threatening everytime they venture forward today with the Saints defence struggling to cope with the pace and skill of the menacing star talents in the Liverpool team.

CHANCE LIVERPOOL! Excellent counter-attack by the Reds from a Saints corner, Coutinho feeds Salah, who sprints up the pitch and then plays a pass to the on-rushing Moreno, but hs loses his balance slightly and the pass isn't the best, which allows the Saints defence to recover in time and the opportunity comes to nothing.
55'
C. Austin enters the game and replaces D. Tadić.
SAVE! A terrific pass from Alexander-Arnold feeds Firmino, who looks like he will slot in Liverpool's third goal, but Forster does well to come off his line, make himself big and keep the effort out. It's all one-way traffic at the moment.
Southampton make their first substitution of the afternoon, Dušan Tadić is the man coming off and he is replaced by Charlie Austin. Looks like Saints will be going top up front, with Austin and Long now on the pitch.

Excellent pressure from Alberto Moreno forces Soares into making a mistake, he tries to play the ball back to his keeper but he gets it all wrong and hands Liverpool a corner. Much better from Southampton! Lovren was forced into making a superb defensive block in his own six-yard box, as Boufal shows his quality by getting through on goal and his strike at goal had to be blocked by Lovren. The closest that Saints have come this afternoon.
48'
Liverpool look eager for more goals here, they have started this second half well and on top, with Firmino, Salah and Mane all linking up nicely in attack. Saints will have to show a lot of improvement if they are to come away with anything today.

GOOOAAALLL! LIVERPOOL DOUBLE THEIR LEAD! Salah with the goal once again, his run cuts open this Saints defence and slots the ball past Forster. It was an excellent run by the winger, in behind the visitors defence and the ball played through by Coutinho was inch-perfect, allowing Salah to run onto it and then fire the ball between the legs of the Saints keeper.
38'
Not long to go until the half-time whistle here at Anfield, will we see Liverpool double their lead before the break? Or, will Saints be able to muster up an opportunity of their own and score an equaliser?

Liverpool are completely on top at the minute and the early good play by Southampton has all come undone by a moment of magic from Salah, which was handed to him by sloppy and relaxed play by Tadic.

GOOOAAALLL! LIVERPOOL LEAD! Mo Salah with another Liverpool goal and what a strike it was! Saints appeared to deal with a corner well, but Tadic then tried to run the ball out of defence, however, he loses it on the edge of the box and after a few passes it ends up at the feet of Salah, who curls a strike into the top left-hand corner from 20 yards out.

Long has barely touched the ball so far for Saints, the service just isn't there for the visitors and the Irish striker is cutting an isolated figure up front at the moment.
25'
Plenty of noise coming from the traveling Southampton supporters today, they will be pleased by what they have seen from their side so far this afternoon. However, they haven't showed anything going forward themselves.
23'
Coutinho steps up to take the free-kick, but his effort goes high over the bar and doesn't come close to troubling Forster.
22'
GOOD SAVE! Forster is forced into making the first stop of the afternoon, to deny Philippe Coutinho from long-range. The Brazilians low effort looked to be heading into the bottom corner and the Saints keeper had to get down quickly to make the save. Davis heads away the resulting corner, but now Liverpool have a free-kick 30 yards out.
20'
Neither team has tested the opposing goalkeeper as of yet. Similar to Liverpool games against Huddersfield and Maribor, when they were slow out the blocks before showing their quality later on and putting a few past their opponents.
19'
Liverpool have conceded just one Premier League goal in seven home fixtures this season, against Burnley. They are vying to earn three consecutive league victories for the first time in 2017.
16'
Still no more goalscoring chances here at Anfield, most of the play is being seen in the middle of the pitch and both teams are struggling to break into their opponents final third. Southampton will be happy at the start they have made so far, conceding an early goal could severely hinder their chances of taking anything back to the South Coast this afternoon.
14'
This is better from Southampton, they forced Liverpool into making a mistake and are now putting together a few passes in the middle of the pitch, with Steven Davis and Oriel Romeu trying to dictate play for the visitors.
12'
Liverpool are certainly the team on top here, Saints are struggling to get a touch on the ball at the moment and string any sort of passes together. The Reds need to start playing the ball faster around the pitch though if they are to break through the visitors defence, as it is all in front of them at present.
9'
CHANCE LIVERPOOL! Mo Salah goes close to opening the scoring here at Anfield for Liverpool, after some poor defending by Saints and Fraser Forster with some questionable goalkeeping. The chance came from a mistake from Virgil Van Dijk, out comes Forster but he's put off by Soares coming over to try and clear the ball. However, Soares completely misses it and the Southampton keeper then fumbles the ball. Eventually it falls to Salah, but his shot is deflected wide and out for a corner, which comes to nothing.
8'
STAT: Liverpool are unbeaten at home this season and have lost only two of their last 32 league matches at Anfield (W19, D11, L2).
7'
Neither side has started the game in spectacular form, it has been a quiet opening few minutes with both teams struggling to get the ball down and string a few passes together.
4'
Looking at the Liverpool attacking line-up this afternoon, it is hard to see anything other than a home victory here. Southampton have struggled to score this season and Shane Long who is leading the line for the Saints this afternoon has failed to score for club or country since the end of May.
2'
Early stoppage in play here as Dusan Tadic is down receiving treatment just a couple of minutes into the game. The Saints man is heading off for more treatment here, but he should be fine to continue.
