Good evening one and all and welcome to Goal's LIVE coverage of Tottenham's titanic clash with the MLS All-Stars at Dick's Sporting Goods Park! My name is Harry Sherlock and I'm here to guide you through the action.
Let's get right down to it! This is a match that has been marred by a number of withdrawals in the past week, with ex-Spur Robbie Keane notable by his absence. Steven Gerrard and Frank Lampard have also pulled out, much to the disappointment of those in attendance.
Tottenham, though, are going for the jugular, and Mauricio Pochettino has named a fearsome starting XI for this friendly. The majority of Spurs' warm-up matches have taken place behind closed doors thus far this summer, so this is our first real chance to see them in action.
TOTTENHAM HOTSPUR (4-2-3-1): Vorm; Walker, Alderweireld, Vertonghen, Davies; Bentaleb, Dier; Chadli, Dembele, Eriksen; Kane
Kick-off is fast approaching, and players have been mingling with fans, taking selfies and signing autographs. The atmosphere at Dick's Sporting Goods Park is one of expectant excitement.
The players are on the pitch. We're not far away now!
Spurs are 2-1 down but they won't be too dissatisfied with their performance. Despite a shaky start, they recovered and Harry Kane's goal has given them hope of a pre-season comeback.
STAT ATTACK: Spurs have had 58% possession but only one stat matters, as they say, and MLS All-Stars will be delighted with their display. They've hassled and harried the English side and deserve their lead.
The second half will commence shortly, with the players getting ready to re-enter the pitch...
And that's that! Spurs dominated the second half but they could not complete a comeback that appeared so inevitable following Harry Kane's goal. Kaka and David Villa win it for the All-Stars.
That's all there is to write about from Dick's Sporting Goods Park. Thank you for following the LIVE action. I've been Harry Sherlock, have a wonderful day!
