Almost a third as Hoedt deflects the ball back towards his own goalkeeper but Southampton escape without further punishment.
90' +3
Southampton set for their sixth consecutive defeat against Chelsea, who have had a fairly comfortable time for the majority of this game.
90' +1
FIVE minutes of added time at Wembley.
89'
Southampton have certainly had the chances here but they've been made to pay, particularly for falling asleep for the second goal. They'll feel they could have done better though and it could just be the start of a miserable end to the season.
86'
SAVE! Morata could have had a hat-trick here! Superb movement gave the striker room but his shot is saved by McCarthy. It was a difficult chance to take and a solid save from the Southampton stopper.
85'
OFF THE LINE! Now it's Chelsea's turn to go close as the Blues immediately hit on the counter, Hazard again finding space and then teeing it back to Morata inside the area. The Spain striker doesn't get the best contact with his effort though and it's hooked off the line.
83'
OFF THE POST! Southampton almost give themselves hope! A searching ball bounces across the face of goal to Austin who hits the post from an incredibly tight angle.
82'
Álvaro Morata has scored a goal for Chelsea! Assist by César Azpilicueta.
GOAL! He's only just come on but he's sealed Chelsea's spot in the final! Azpilicueta curls a cross to his compatriot at the far post, who heads down into the ground and sees the ball bounce past McCarthy.
Azpilicueta only ever assists Morata! Chelsea on their way to their second FA Cup final in a row.
80'
Álvaro Morata enters the game and replaces O. Giroud.
Chelsea also make their final change, with goalscorer Giroud replaced by Morata.
78'
M. Gabbiadini enters the game and replaces J. Bednarek.
Almost a second for Chelsea! Hazard drives a low ball into the middle that Soares clears but it smashes back off Yoshida, looping just over the bar and behind for a corner. The Saints hold firm to defend the set-piece but they're running out of time.
Third and final change for Southampton as Gabbiadini, who scored twice in the League Cup final defeat to Manchester United last year, replaces defender Bednarek.
Minute
Description
76'
Pedro enters the game and replaces Cesc Fàbregas.
Second change from Chelsea, as Pedro is introduced in place of his compatriot Fabregas.
74'
CLOSE! Chelsea immediately attack down the other end, where Hazard strikes towards goal and requires McCarthy to tip the ball over the top of the goal.
73'
SAVE! How on earth did that stay out!? Redmond strikes at goal and it seemed to go underneath Caballero but somehow goes behind for a corner. From that set-piece, Austin is adjudged to have fouled the goalkeeper on the line- a call that looked to be extremely harsh.
72'
Under 20 minutes left for Southampton to turn the game around, with Chelsea on course to set-up a final against Manchester United- just like we saw in 2007.
70'
A decent spell for Southampton, who look to be encouraged attacking towards their own fans, and Hughes' side have upped the tempo. Caballero still yet to be forced into significant action though.
68'
Tadic's delivery is put behind for another corner off Giroud's arm, which leads to appeals for a penalty, but it's not given. Serbia ace Tadic again whips a delivery into the near post but it's headed away.
67'
Southampton are still not quite clicking in the final third but they have earned a corner on the far side off Rudiger.
65'
W. Hoedt gets yellow.
Hazard on the receiving end yet again, as Hoedt lunges in and earns himself a booking.
64'
T. Bakayoko enters the game and replaces Willian.
Chelsea also make a change and the fans are not pleased, booing the decision to take off Willian. Bakayoko is introduced in his place.
63'
D. Tadić enters the game and replaces P. Højbjerg.
N. Redmond enters the game and replaces S. Long.
Here's the chances for Southampton then, with Long replaced by Redmond.
The other Southampton change sees Tadic enter the frame, taking the place of Hojbjerg.
61'
Tadic and Redmond just about to come on for Southampton, who still have a chance of turning this game around.
59'
Giroud is back on after treatment from the physios, earning some jeers from the Southampton fans, but Chelsea will certainly breath a sigh of relief. France boss Didier Deschamps probably will too.
57'
Giroud down in a heap after a strong tackle from Romeu, who catches the France striker with the follow through on his challenge, but it was a fair tackle. The goal-scorer requires some treatment though.
55'
M. Lemina gets yellow.
Another yellow card after another foul on Hazard, as Lemina manhandles the Belgium international.
54'
WHAT A CHANCE! Southampton have just wasted a golden opportunity! Austin superbly lets the ball run to Long, who takes a heavy touch around Caballero and sees the chance go begging. Why didn't he shoot!?
52'
Southampton are at least showing some sort of attacking intent now, with Austin flagged offside, and Chelsea don't look particularly solid defensively.
50'
Oriol Romeu gets yellow.
Southampton's second yellow card of the afternoon is issued to Romeu, after he fouls Hazard.
49'
An electric start to the second period, as Long appeals for a penalty under a challenge at one end before Hazard curls an effort wide at the other. Finally we have some excitement!
46'
O. Giroud has scored a goal for Chelsea! Assist by E. Hazard.
GOAL! That didn't take long! Chelsea finally take the lead! Hazard brings Fabregas' lofted pass down superbly and plays to Giroud, who twists his way through the defence and past McCarthy before tucking home with ease.
Brilliant touch from Hazard but superb from Giroud, Chelsea get their deserved lead!
45'
KICK-OFF! Back underway at Wembley, where Chelsea now attack to the right in the second half. Hopefully we have more excitement in the second 45 minutes, remember the game could go to extra-time and penalties!
44'
I suppose Southampton do deserve some credit for being settled in defence, having looked rather desperate during the early exchanges. Hughes will be happy with that but their attacking play has been woeful.
40'
M. Yoshida gets yellow.
The game's first yellow card of the game is issued to Yoshida for a foul in the middle of the field.
39'
WIDE! Giroud goes for the acrobatic effort twice after Fabregas clips a cross into the middle, smashing a volley wide with his second attempt.
36'
Southampton's service to Long and Austin has been non-existent. They're trying route one football and it's left the two forwards feeding on scraps. It begs questions as to why they've even started with two strikers if they're not going to try to bring them into the game.
34'
At least the Southampton fans are in full voice, as Wembley erupts into a chorus of when the Saints go marching in. Unfortunately there's been no sign of marching anywhere from their side.
32'
As far as FA Cup semi-finals go, this is one of the least exciting that I can remember. Chelsea have controlled everything but still haven't tested McCarthy much at all.
30'
Azpilicueta wins Chelsea a corner on the far side as the pressure from the Blues continues but it comes to nothing, despite McCarthy making a mess of his attempts to snatch Fabregas' delivery out of the air.
28'
Southampton will be happy if they manage to hold Chelsea until the break but they continue to ride their luck.
26'
Courtois' absence today is raising questions, as he was expected to take a spot on the bench. Caballero is the cup goalkeeper and was always poised to start but Eduardo's inclusion as back-up is a surprise.
24'
SAVE! Better from Southampton as Caballero is forced into action to save Austin's attempt from distance but it was a comfortable one.
22'
Chelsea are running the game at Wembley, with Southampton looking out of their depth. Any hope of an inspired performance for the fans who've travelled to the home of England's national team will be disappointed.
20'
Twenty gone, no goals yet in the FA Cup semi-final but you get the feeling that the opening goal is right around the corner if Chelsea continue to dominate like this.
18'
Latest Chelsea attack comes to nothing as Willian's pass through to Giroud is poor but the alarm bells are ringing loud and clear for Southampton at Wembley.
16'
Southampton already being forced into some desperate defending, which is a massive concern for Hughes as the game is still at it's very early stages.
14'
Free-kick right on the edge of the box for Chelsea after Kante's darting run forward is brought to a close by Bednarek. Willian sets his sights for goal but he doesn't have the required dip on his attempt, sendin a shot curling over the bar.
12'
Superb block! Hazard weaves his way through and Fabregas finds room, then cutting the ball back to the Belgium international. However, Yoshida recovers to block the shot before it can cause McCarthy issues.
11'
Southampton more than happy to put men behind the ball and defend but it's a dangerous strategy as the free-flowing Hazard has already found pockets of space, whilst Willian looks in the mood on the far side.
9'
Chelsea controlling the tempo of the game, as you would expect. Southampton have shown some positive glimpses though and can pose a threat.
7'
OFF THE BAR! Chelsea upping the ante in the early exchanges, with a swift attacking move seeing Hazard feed the ball off to Willian. The Brazil ace cuts inside and curls an effort towards goal with his left boot, which bounces off the bar.
5'
First sight at goal in the game comes from Chelsea, as Hazard plays a good one-two with Giroud before lashing a shot over the bar.
3'
A decent start for Southampton, who will be keen to redeem themselves after throwing away a 2-0 lead against the Blues in the Premier League last weekend. They've lost all of their last five against the west London outfit though so it'll be a stern test.
1'
KICK-OFF! We're underway at Wembley, where Southampton get the second FA Cup semi-final started. The Saints attack to the right in the first half.
Good afternoon and welcome to our LIVE coverage of the second FA Cup semi-final at Wembley, where Chelsea and Southampton go toe-to-toe in an attempt to join Manchester United in next month's final.
Chelsea's hopes of securing a top-four Premier League finish and Champions League football next term are looking very bleak, heaping the pressure on manager Antonio Conte. It remains to be seen whether he'll stay in west London this summer but securing FA Cup glory would certainly elevate the pressure upon the Italian boss.
Southampton, meanwhile, face an entirely different fight in the league as they struggle to avoid relegation. After losing in the League Cup final to Manchester United last year, the Saints will be dreaming of glory at Wembley today to give them a chance of enjoying revenge against the Red Devils next month.
Chelsea XI: Willy Caballero; Cesar Azpilicueta, Gary Cahill, Antonio Rudiger; Victor Moses, N'Golo Kante, Cesc Fabregas, Emerson; Willian, Eden Hazard; Olivier Giroud.
Southampton XI: Alex McCarthy; Cedric Soares, Wesley Hoedt, Maya Yoshida, Jan Bednarek, Ryan Bertrand; Oriol Romeu, Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg, Mario Lemina; Shane Long, Charlie Austin.
Chelsea subs: Eduardo, Andreas Christensen, Davide Zappacosta, Tiemoue Bakayoko, Ross Barkley, Pedro Rodriguez, Alvaro Morata.
Southampton subs: Fraser Forster, Sam McQueen, Dusan Tadic, Nathan Redmond, James Ward-Prowse, Manolo Gabbiadini, Guido Carrillo.
Antonio Conte makes four changes to the side that beat Burnley in midweek, bringing in Caballero, Fabregas, Willian and Hazard. Morata, Bakayoko and Pedro drop to the bench, whilst Thibaut Courtois isn't selected in the squad.
Mark Hughes makes two changes to the side tht drew 0-0 with Leicester City in midweek, bringing in Austin and Lemina. Ward-Prowse and Tadic are the pair replaced, with both dropping to the bench.
HALF-TIME! No time added on at the end of an extremely poor first half. Chelsea came closest to scoring when Willian curled an effort onto the crossbar but the Blues have done nowhere near enough despite dominating proceedings, whilst Southampton haven't ventured into the attacking third much at all.
Chelsea looked positive early on, with Willian looking bright and striking the bar, but things soon became far too easy for Southampton to deal with.
Mark Hughes will be happy that it's goalless at the break but his decision not to play the creative Dusan Tadic looks to be a mistake, as they've had nothing going for them in attack. You have to wonder at which point they'll decide to push for a goal.
FULL-TIME! Chelsea seal their spot against Manchester United in next month's FA Cup final after second-half goals from Olivier Giroud and Alvaro Morata, handing Antonio Conte's side their second final appearance in a row. Southampton were poor for the majority and never quite looked capable of overcoming their opponents.
It wasn't a vintage performance from Chelsea and there is still areas to improve upon but the Blues will go head-to-head with former boss Jose Mourinho next month, potentially providing a saving grace to what has been a largely disappointing campaign.
It's another blow for Southampton, who have had to endure a difficult season. Any chance of a memorable end with FA Cup glory is now gone, with the Saints enduring Wembley heartbreak for the second season in a row. Their focus now shifts towards their final four Premier League games, as they sit four points from safety.
