A third offside in the space of five minutes as Smith is trapped chasing after a lofted long ball from Azofeifa. There are two added minutes incoming.
88'
Belgium counter with an offside call of their own; Batshuayi is flagged by the linesman as he drifts towards the Costa Rica box looking for a Dendoncker ball.
86'
Offside against Costa Rica now as, with a rare late attack, Campbell is flagged in pursuit of a Gonzalez through-ball.
84'
Thorgan Hazard again fails to press an attack from the set-piece and the visitors sweep it away through Azofeifa.
83'
Navas blocks an attempted close-range effort from Dembele and can't regather the ball in time to keep it from rolling out for a corner.
81'
Thorgan Hazard is now caught offside as he tracks forward in pursuit of a Witsel ball. Roberto Martinez will be pleased that his side has never taken their foot off the pedal, despite having controlled the game in earnest since the 50th minute.
80'
Into the last 10 minutes now; have Belgium got a final score in them or can Costa Rica pull one back to make it a slightly more respectable result?
78'
Thorgan Hazard! The substitute should have kept that one down, as he cuts a jagged path between three defenders, slips around a fourth into the box and duly blasts his shot some 10 yards over the crossbar from the same distance out.
76'
R. Azofeifa enters the game and replaces C. Borges.
Borges is the latest swap from Costa Rica with Randall Azofeifa taking his place.
Minute
Description
74'
Dendoncker goes close with a header as he rises to meet the latest set-piece - but he puts it straight to Navas who holds onto it before booting it to safety downfield.
73'
Tielemans turns it long to the left corner, past the Costa Rica box, and Gonzalez takes it out for another corner. Thorgan Hazard to take...
72'
After the wait, it's a soft corner in the end from Belgium; though they pick up a free-kick a moment later for a foul by Tielemans by Guzman.
71'
Y. Tielemans enters the game and replaces K. De Bruyne.
...and seconds later, Youri Tielemans arrives to take the place of De Bruyne.
70'
M. Dembélé enters the game and replaces E. Hazard.
Moussa Dembele is on for Eden Hazard - who rather worryingly is carrying himself with a rather awkward gait and a pained look as he leaves the field...
69'
...though Belgium will have to wait to take it as they make another pair of changes.
68'
Acosta brings down the captain Hazard out on the left wing and Belgium come up with a free-kick. They swing it in deep, where Duarte puts it out for a corner...
66'
J. Campbell enters the game and replaces B. Ruiz.
L. Dendoncker enters the game and replaces D. Boyata.
I. Smith enters the game and replaces C. Gamboa.
...while Costa Rica make a double swap with Cristian Gamboa replaced by Ian Smith ...
More changes now, as Belgium also replace Boyata with Leander Dendoncker...
...and Bryan Ruiz bows out in place of Joel Campbell.
65'
T. Hazard enters the game and replaces R. Lukaku.
It's the last act of the game for Lukaku too as he is replaced by Thorgan Hazard. Two goals, one assist; it's not been a bad day at the office for the forward.
64'
M. Batshuayi has scored a goal for Belgium! Assist by R. Lukaku.
GOAL! 4-1 TO BELGIUM! It's another one for the Red Devils as Michy Batshuayi is the lucky recipient of Lukaku's square ball across the face of goal as he spurns the chance to go for a hat-trick to supply his strike partner. Costa Rica are looking utterly shattered now; the hosts have taken them to the cleaners. It's a three-goal game in Brussels.
That was a wonderfully unselfish pass from Lukaku who, given his goals tonight, probably could have made it three. Instead, he makes it a sure thing by slipping a neat ball to his right to find his fellow striker who drills home past a stumbling Navas.
62'
D. Guzmán enters the game and replaces C. Bolaños.
Bolanos is the latest man to depart in Brussels; David Guzman is his replacement.
61'
Witsel steers a cross near the face of goal, looking for a tap-in from Chadli or Batshuayi; neither get there however and Costa Rica clear their box.
60'
Venegas goes chasing after a long ball following an interception in the Costa Rica half, and almost beats Boyata to it; Vertonghen doubles back in time to help out his fellow defender and block the striker from taking possession 30 yards out.
58'
De Bruyne goes for goal on the back of a Carrasco pass from outside the box on the right - but he can only steer it wide at the far post after slicing the angle under pressure from Ruiz.
54'
There's another break in play for injury; this time for Carrasco after he took an accidental elbow to the back of the head while challenging for a high ball.
52'
M. Batshuayi enters the game and replaces D. Mertens.
Michy Batshuayi is on from the restart for Belgium; he takes the place of Mertens.
50'
R. Lukaku has scored a goal for Belgium! Assist by N. Chadli.
WHAT A HEADER FROM ROMELU LUKAKU! 3-1 to Belgium! Two goals for the Manchester United man! This time, it's a cut-back cross on the right from Chadli that he rises to meet, six yards out - and his effort is fabulously guided past Navas and into the back of the net. The hosts have a two-goal advantage early in the second half.
On off the bench, it's an instant impact from Chadli who captured a speedy through-ball from De Bruyne on the right before he was able to turn it back across the box for Lukaku. Lovely stuff.
47'
Hazard wins himself a free-kick in the attacking half after a clumsy foul from Borges, though the captain is unable to create any real danger out of it as Belgium look to increase their lead.
46'
F. Calvo enters the game and replaces B. Oviedo.
J. Venegas enters the game and replaces M. Ureña.
N. Chadli enters the game and replaces T. Meunier.
...Urena makes way for Johan Venegas...
We're back underway in Brussels, with a pair of changes for Costa Rica and one for Belgium...
...Francisco Calvo replaces Oviedo...
...and Nacer Chadli swings in for Meunier.
45' +2
HALF TIME: BELGIUM 2-1 COSTA RICA
45' +1
It's a poor corner from Belgium this time and Costa Rica win themselves a defensive free-kick after Meunier fouls Oviedo.
45'
Two added minutes on the way as Hazard, rather than lifting the ball into the box, plays it short and then drills in, earning a deflection for a corner.
44'
G. González gets yellow.
Gonzalez gets booked now for an intentional foul on Hazard as Belgium threatened to rip open the Costa Rica defence again with a speedy break through midfield.
42'
R. Lukaku has scored a goal for Belgium! Assist by D. Mertens.
GOAL! 2-1 to Belgium! Lukaku finally finds the back of the net with no offside flag to foil him as he bundles in a great finish off a fantastic Mertens cross in to the left post. The hosts hit the front for the first time; they lead by a goal in Brussels.
Mertens has supplied plenty of brilliant balls to Lukaku in this game so far, but that one was rather special, twisting it between the fractured Costa Rica defence.
40'
Another offside against Lukaku, this time as he chases after a low ball clipped neatly through a gap in the Costa Rica defence by De Bruyne.
38'
Offside against Lukaku now as he races on to meet a Mertens ball. Belgium's leading goalscorer is getting close to another one...
37'
Disallowed goal for Belgium! Vertonghen heads on a Boyata header off a Mertens corner swung in from the left at the far post, but the linesman flags him up, to his outrage. Boyata really should have buried the ball himself in the first instance; disappointing for the hosts.
35'
There's a break in play now for Navas to get treatment; a Hazard shot from close range is saved by the keeper once more, only this time with his face and he requires attention for a bloody nose.
33'
Lukaku almost makes it two goals in as many minutes for Belgium; he plants a left-footed effort towards Navas from the left of the box that the keeper has little trouble dealing with in the end.
31'
D. Mertens has scored a goal for Belgium! Assist by E. Hazard.
GOAL! 1-1! Belgium pull it back to level pegging through Dries Mertens! The striker taps in a skewed Hazard ball through the Costa Rica box from the right at the left post, after the captain foxed a packed Costa Rica defensive line with some technical smarts. All square in Brussels once again.
Hazard's assist is more a mis-hit strike than anything else, as he sliced his effort aimed for the right post considerably wide to the left. Regardless though, his side are back on equal terms.
28'
Save from Navas! The Costa Rica keeper is having a great game so far as he gets a hand to a close-range Mertens effort near the right post. The Belgian could have tipped it back in for Lukaku or Hazard; instead, the hosts are sent racing back to halfway to regather possession.
26'
Belgium have dominated this game from the off, and yet they trail after a truly unexpected goal from Costa Rica. They do have a free-kick now from Hazard, 40 yards out on the right; yet it is a soft effort in the end and is duly bundled away in the crowded box by Acosta.
24'
B. Ruiz has scored a goal for Costa Rica!
GOAL FOR COSTA RICA! BRYAN RUIZ MAKES IT 1-0 AGAINST THE RUN OF PLAY! Where on earth did that come from?! Encroaching into the Belgium half on a rare venture, Borges tries a neat little chip from 25 yards out over the defence. Vertonghen peels back to meet it but his clearing header is weak and lands at the feet of the Costa Rica captain who drills home from 12 yards out in the middle of the box past Courtois. 1-0 to the visitors.
23'
Lukaku glides into the Costa Rica box again to meet a Meunier pass that is perfectly floated in from the right wing; again, Navas gets a touch and hooks it away from the stiker's feet.
21'
Carrasco launchs a looping cross in from the left wing looking for Lukaku - but puts it so deep that Navas saves it about a foot in front of goal instead with the striker nowhere in sniffing distance.
19'
Lukaku! It's a fantastic save from Navas to deny the Manchester United man as he slides onto a Hazard cross six yards out from the Costa Rica goal - though a belated whistle and flag deems the Belgian to have been offside.
17'
Belgium earn another corner after Tejeda takes a De Bruyne pass to the line; from the set-piece, which bobs low, Vertonghen lands a header that drifts high and wide to the right at the near post.
13'
De Bruyne clips a lovely ball wide to the right looking for Hazard to collect and feed back in to Lukaku lurking near the box; the captain takes an uncharacteristic stumble as he tries to take possession however and the Costa Rica defence muscle up at the back.
11'
Tejeda concedes a corner as Carrasco blasts an effort from 20 yards out into the Costa Rica man; from the resulting corner, Boyata sticks a header over the crossbar. Belgium are looking in the mood in Brussels, threading together a consistent attacking threat play after play.
9'
Lukaku slips a dangerous ball in looking for Mertens; Navas is there at the back to spring off his goal-line and snatch up the ball.
7'
Mertens turns it in from the left and Costa Rica clear it to 30 yards away; Lukaku is allowed to prowl back into the crowded box with worrying ease, before he goes down appealing for a penalty that is waved away.
6'
Mertens breaks now down the left, with a fizzing run that forces Costa Rica to back-pedal; they concede a corner through Acosta as he checks the forward's run and forces the ball out.
4'
Belgium come back out with a burst of impressive speed and suddenly Hazard carves a path through the opposition's defence to snake his way into the Costa Rica box. Gonzalez lands an excellent tackle to deny him the chance to shoot from eight yards out and the chance is whisked away.
3'
Good defensive work from Costa Rica actually forces Belgium so far back that they win a corner. The in-swinging set-piece isn't the greatest - and a second attempt from Duarte just inside the box on the right goes wide at the near post.
1'
We're underway in Brussels! Belgium make their first incursion into Costa Rica territory from the first whistle, though Lukaku can't keep a long ball from Mertens down on the right wing and the visitors are able to press them back into their own half.
Hello and welcome to live coverage of this pre-World Cup warm-up match as Belgium host Costa Rica in their final game before this month's tournament, at the King Baudouin Stadium in Brussels. With one last chance left to fine-tune, both sides will be keen to sign off preparations with a victory – but will it be the Red Devils or Los Ticos who depart for Russia on a winning high?
Roberto Martinez' men were the first side to make it to Russia from the UEFA qualifying process after they romped through unbeaten. Despite a 3-0 victory over Egypt last time out though, the former Wigan Athletic boss is urging his team to work together rather than rest on the individual skill of stars like Kevin De Bruyne and Eden Hazard as they look to go one further than 2014's quarter-final appearance in Brazil.
Costa Rica too are looking to better their quarter-final appearance from Brazil, when they lost on penalties to Netherlands in Salvador. Former midfielder and Alajuelense hero Oscar Ramirez makes his first World Cup appearance as coach, having taken the reins in 2015; it is his second showing at the tournament following Italy 1990, as it is the second showing for captain Bryan Ruiz, who will be looking to atone in Russia for his missed penalty four years ago.
Team news now and the big story for Belgium is the absence of defender Vincent Kompany. The Manchester City captain was injured against Portugal in a friendly on June 2 and has failed to recover in time for their final warm-up game; doubts linger over whether he will be fit in time for their opening fixture on June 18.
As for Costa Rica, they name an experienced side with five changes from the line-up that lost 2-0 to England in Leeds; Ruiz, Johnny Acosta, Oscar Duarte, Yeltsin Tejeda and Christian Bolanos are the men who are promoted from the bench to the starting XI.
BELGIUM (3-4-3): Thibaut Courtois; Toby Alderweireld, Jan Vertonghen, Dedryck Boyata; Thomas Meunier, Kevin De Bruyne, Yannick Carrasco, Axel Witsel; Romelu Lukaku, Dries Mertens, Eden Hazard
COSTA RICA (5-4-1): Keylor Navas; Giancarlo Gonzalez, Bryan Oviedo, Johnny Acosta, Oscar Duarte, Cristian Gamboa; Bryan Ruiz, Christian Bolanos, Celso Borges, Yeltsin Tejeda; Marco Urena
Subs: Kendall Waston, Joel Campbell, Patrick Pemberton, Ronald Matarrita, Randall Azofeifa, Ian Smith, Johan Venegas, David Guzman, Leonel Moreira, Rodney Wallace, Francisco Calvo, Daniel Colindres
The teams are out for the national anthems at the King Baudouin Stadium. We're almost underway in this final warm-up match for the pair...
Goals from Dries Martens and Romelu Lukaku cancelled out Bryan Ruiz's against-the-grain strike in a busy first half in Brussels - and Belgium look to be in complete control of this final friendly before the World Cup. The hosts have registered 12 shots on goal in comparison to Costa Rica's two - and with much talent still available on the bench, the Red Devils are firmly in the driving seat to keep their unbeaten record intact. At half-time, it's Belgium 2-1 Costa Rica.
With the next half the final 45 minutes for either side to touch up before their opening games in Russia, expect both sides to make changes as they experiment with the players available - and perhaps rest a few key stars in order to minimise any chance of unwanted injury.
A brace from Romelu Lukaku and goals for Mertens and Batshuayi give Belgium a 4-1 win over Costa Rica in Brussels to ensure that the Red Devils head to Russia unbeaten in over 20 months. Oscar Ramirez's side may have taken an early lead thanks to captain Bryan Ruiz, but on the basis of their showing tonight, they will struggle to repeat their run to the quarter-finals from 2014 without a distinct upturn in fortunes. The Red Devils will be hopeful of going on to greater things under the leadership of Eden Hazard and Kevin De Bruyne; at full-time, it finishes Belgium 4-1 Costa Rica.
That's it for both clubs now; next stop, Russia. Costa Rica will kick off their campaign on June 17 when they play Serbia in Samara, before matches against Brazil and Switzerland in Group E as they look to spring a shock or two. As for Belgium, they start off in Sochi the day after versus Panama, after which they will clash with Tunisia and England in Group G. It's all set to be another thrilling World Cup; until then however, thank you for joining us and have a good week!
