Milan have another chance to counter. It is four against three in their favour but Calhanoglu shoots straight at Romulo. There are just 30 seconds of stoppage time to play!
90' +4
PENALTY SHOUT! Milinkovic-Savic goes down in the box under contact from Rodriguez. The referee waves away the appeals and that is a great call as the full-back got the ball before the man. Milan counter and Cutrone drills wide at the end of a three-on-three attack.
90' +2
C. Zapata gets yellow.
GOOD STOP FROM STRAKOSHA! Borini and Suso exchange passes. The latter has plenty of space to work with and tries to pick out the far corner with an impressive curled effort, which Strakosha does well to push away from the net.
The referee pulls play back and shows a yellow to Zapata for a foul.
90'
Suso once again takes too long to decide what he wants to do with the ball and Lazio recover. Kessie then keeps hold of the ball towards the corner to eat up some more valuable seconds. SIX minutes have been added on here!
88'
Another long ball forward is dealt with by Lazio as Felipe gets to it ahead of Cutrone - good defending. Milan are seeing out this match fairly comfortably, but Lazio scored a late equaliser from nowhere in the reverse fixture.
86'
INZAGHI SENT TO THE STANDS! Inzaghi, out of his technical area, lets the referee know what he thinks about that decision to book his player. The Lazio manager has been sent to the stands for the remainder of the match.
85'
Luis Alberto gets yellow.
Alberto leaves his leg trailing and Borini goes over it, earning himself a yellow card. Inzaghi is furious with that decision.
The corner drops on the edge of the six-yard box and Strakosha initially makes a mess of it, but he gathers at the second attempt. Lazio have struggled to create anything since falling behind, and they now have just five minutes of normal time to hit back.
84'
P. Cutrone enters the game and replaces K. Piątek.
Gattuso makes his final change of the game by replacing Piatek, quiet by his usual standards today, with Cutrone.
83'
A long ball forward is plucked out of the air by Strakosha, who was a little late coming off his line. Lazio are likely to dominate possession now, but they have looked far less like scoring in the second half compared to the opening 45 minutes.
Minute
Description
81'
M. Parolo enters the game and replaces Bastos.
Lazio boss Inzaghi responds to that late setback by bringing on Parolo for Bastos, meaning a change of system for the visitors.
79'
Penalty goal scored by F. Kessié for AC Milan!
GOOOOAAALLL!!! MILAN 1-0 LAZIO! Kessie's penalty is not quite in the corner but Strakosha guesses the wrong way by diving to his right. Milan have a lead with just over 10 minutes to go at San Siro!
74'
R. Durmisi enters the game and replaces S. Lulić.
Lulic makes way for Durmisi in a straight swap at left wing-back.
73'
Bakayoko quite clearly catches Lucas to concede a free-kick high up the pitch. Milan have looked the better side for a while now but we are edging closer and closer towards a goalless conclusion.
69'
Gattuso has indeed changed system, matching Lazio by going with five across the back. Borini and Laxalt will play as the wing-backs, while Suso has slotted in behind Piatek up top.
68'
C. Zapata enters the game and replaces A. Romagnoli.
Zapata is now on for Romagnoli as the hosts make a double change. Gattuso may well have changed his system for the final quarter of the game.
67'
D. Laxalt enters the game and replaces D. Calabria.
Calabria tried to run off the injury but he has been unable to do so. After going down for the second time in a few minutes, Gattuso decides to bring on Laxalt.
63'
The home fans are starting to get a little frustrated now as a promising move breaks down. Suso takes too long on the ball and that gives Lucas a chance to step across and block the shot.
62'
PIATEK HEADS ON TARGET! Suso's cross is aimed towards Piatek, but the striker has far too much to do. He manages to guide it on target from more than 10 yards out, though it has no power behind it and Strakosha has a comfortable catch to make.
58'
Milinkovic-Savic makes contact with Piatek but the Milan striker makes the most of it, which the referee is wise to. Prior to that, Calhanoglu's free-kick into the box was dealt with by the visitors.
57'
The second half has been a lot more stop-start compared to the first half, with a number of niggling challenges over the last 10 minutes. Lucas has come closest to a goal in the second period with his volleyed shot into the side-netting.
54'
A number of players clatter into each other at the front post when trying to get on the end of the corner. Romulo can perhaps consider himself fortunate because he had his arms on Borini. There could be an injury blow for Milan as Bakayoko is down receiving some treatment.
52'
Borini brings Romagnoli's pass under control with a fine first touch and picks out Piatek in the box. Piatek has his back to goal and decides to tee up Calhanoglu, whose shot hits Lucas and goes behind for a corner.
50'
SIDE-NETTING! Lazio's first corner of the half is poor, but the final touch comes off Calhanoglu so they have another attempt. This next one is better, with Lucas volleying into the side-netting after finding some space eight yards from goal.
48'
Correa immediately waved to the bench after being caught by Bakayoko and he has been replaced by Caicedo just a few minutes into the half.
47'
F. Caicedo enters the game and replaces J. Correa.
46'
RESTART! Milan get us back up and running at San Siro! There have been no changes made by either manager at the interval so it is as you were.
45' +1
HALF-TIME: MILAN 0-0 LAZIO
43'
Strakosha got a fingertip to that previous shot from Calhanoglu, so that has to go down as a fine save. The ball comes back into the box through Kessie and Piatek nods over.
42'
CLOSE! Suso pokes the ball into the path of Calhanoglu, who needs a couple of touches to set himself before thumping the ball just over the crossbar. That was a fine hit from the Milan midfielder, and it took a deflection on its way through as a corner has been given.
41'
Milan are now down to 55 per cent in terms of the possession count - it has been a fairly evenly-matched first half. Lazio come again after some sloppy play from Suso, but Romulo opts to shoot from range when he has a player to his right offering support. The shot is blocked.
39'
Reina is being worked a lot more than opposite number Strakosha. A lot of Milan's efforts are either off target or blocked, with Suso the latest to be denied by a Lazio player - Acerbi on this occasion - when pulling the trigger.
37'
SAVE! Alberto holds the ball up in the box, lays it off for Milinkovic-Savic and the midfielder's shot deflects off Rodriguez into the arms of Reina. Had luck been on his side that would have gone either side of Milan's back-up keeper.
35'
What a game this has been, by the way. The pace has been relentless, with both teams creating some good opportunities. There is plenty on the line today - fingers crossed it continues in this manner for the remaining hour or so.
30'
Yet again some space opens up in the final third for Lazio, but Immobile's throughball runs right through to Reina. Correa ran in the opposite direction.
29'
SHOT! The corner is played short and worked to Kessie. The long-range shot is going wide but Strakosha is taking no risks, getting down to his left to keep hold of the ball with both hands.
28'
DEFLECTED WIDE! Milan are having to rely on the counter for their attacking opportunities, having seen their opponents boss possession for a good three minutes or so. Calhanoglu covers good ground down the left, cuts inside and has a right-footed shot deflected behind for a corner.
26'
Lazio's formation is working a treat as they are constantly getting players on the ball in Milan's final third. Immobile in particular is dropping deep to link up play, but on this occasion the attack breaks down as Lulic's cross from the left is cut out.
24'
Bastos stamps right on the foot of Suso, who is in a little pain. Lazio are looking the more threatening of the two sides but they have been unable to make the most of their spells on top.
18'
ANOTHER REINA SAVE! Lazio are working the Milan keeper as Alberto exchanges passes with Immobile and curls the ball on target from the edge of the box. It is a decent effort but one that Reina was favourite to keep out.
16'
The home side have had 62 per cent of the ball in the opening 16 minutes, but they have yet to have a shot on target. Lazio have only fared marginally better in that regard, coming close through Immobile's effort five minutes in.
14'
Borini's shot deflects over for a corner, which comes to little. Rodriguez's cross is then scuffed into the box and cleared by the first man.
13'
This is a fine challenge from Romagnoli, sliding in on Correa to prevent the Lazio attacker from getting in a shot at goal. That all came as a result of Calhanoglu giving away possession.
12'
Milan are appealing everything at the moment. Calhanoglu fires the ball towards goal and it hits a sea of bodies. The midfielder claims it hit a player on the hand, but even if it had done it would not have been intentional.
10'
The assistant referee upsets the home fans by awarding a goal-kick and not a corner. Replays show it was the correct call - the final touch came off Calabria's hand.
9'
Rômulo gets yellow.
Bakayoko knows the challenge is coming in from Romulo and he accepts his fate. The first yellow card of the match is shown to the Lazio wing-back.
8'
Milan win a free-kick out on the left-hand side. Rather than launching it into the box, it is played down the line to Borini, who is unable to pick out a team-mate with his whipped cross.
7'
There have been a number of strong challenges in the early stages of the game, with Piatek the latest to be penalised. Milan have seen a fair bit of the ball but Lazio have come closest to opening the scoring through that Immobile shot a couple of minutes ago.
3'
Milan are knocking the ball around but they are struggling to get it into the final third. Lazio turn over possession, only for Piatek to race back and halt the attack. There is a good feel to this match in the early stages.

KICK-OFF! Lazio, looking for a win that will drag them level on points with their opponents, get us underway!
Hello and welcome to our live coverage of the Serie A meeting between AC Milan and Lazio at San Siro.
Milan's disappointing run of form continued last week with a 2-1 defeat at champions-elect Juventus, leaving them with just one point from the last 12 on offer - a 1-1 draw with Udinese here in their most recent home outing. The hosts are now aiming to avoid going five league matches without a win for the first time in a year, knowing that defeat today really will blow the race for a Champions League spot wide open.
Victory for Roma over Udinese earlier today means that Milan start this game sitting outside the top four, two points below the Giallorossi with this game in hand to play. Atalanta are level on 52 points with Gennaro Gattuso's side, and then comes today's opponents Lazio on 49 points having played a game fewer. Lazio have also stuttered of late, failing to win their last two matches, but they are very much in the mix for a top-four finish heading into this huge match in Milan.
Milan subs: Lucas Biglia, Andrea Bertolacci, Ivan Strinic, Ignazio Abate, Andrea Conti, Antonio Donnarumma, Mattia Caldara, Samu Castillejo, Patrick Cutrone, Cristian Zapata, Alessandro Plizzari, Diego Laxalt.
LAZIO (3-5-1-1): Thomas Strakosha; Luiz Felipe, Francesco Acerbi, Bastos; Romulo, Sergej Milinkovic-Savic, Lucas Leiva, Luis Alberto, Senad Lulic (c); Joaquin Correa; Ciro Immobile.
Lazio subs: Pedro Neto, Felipe Caicedo, Riza Durmisi, Silvio Proto, Danilo Cataldi, Jorge Silva, Wallace, Marco Parolo, Bruno Jordao, Guido Guerrieri, Patric.
The two teams are now out on the field at San Siro and we are moments away from kick-off.
Inzaghi, who lost three of last week's starters either to injury or suspension for today's game, will argue that his side deserve to be in front at the midway stage. A mixture of good goalkeeping from Reina and some slack finishing in the final third means that we are all square, though, and it is not like Milan did not have opportunities of their own. The visitors had more control of the match so Gattuso may be half tempted to change things slightly ahead of the second half.
After collecting just one point from their last four matches, this win is truly massive for Milan. Next up for them is a trip to Parma a week from now, while Lazio - without a win in three - host Udinese in their game in hand on Wednesday.
Thanks for joining our coverage today. Until next time, goodbye!
