Hello and welcome to our LIVE coverage of this Euro 2020 Group E qualifier between Hungary and Wales!
Wales’ 2-1 defeat against Croatia last time out puts increased pressure on this match against a resurgent Hungary, who stunned World Cup finalists Croatia back in March. Marco Rossi’s side won their last two matches against Croatia and Azerbaijan, and they will be looking to make it six wins in 11 under the new boss against the Welsh. Meanwhile, Ryan Giggs’ side are targeting a second win of the campaign in their third outing.
HUNGARY (4-2-3-1): Peter Gulacsi; Gergo Lovrencsics, Botond Barath, Willi Orban, Mihaly Korhut; Adam Nagy, Mate Patkai; Balazs Dzsudzsak, Dominik Szoboszlai, Filip Holender; Adam Szalai.
SUBS: Denes Dibusz, Adam Kovacsik, David Holman, Dominik Nagy, Laszlo Kleinheisler, Janos Ferenczi, Paulo Vinicius, Barnabas Bese, Roland Varga, Zsolt Kalmar, Krisztian Nemeth, Istvan Kovacs.
WALES (4-2-3-1): Wayne Hennessey; Chris Gunter, Ashley Williams, Jamie Lawrence, Ben Davies; Joe Allen, Ethan Ampadu; Tom Lawrence, David Brooks, Daniel James; Gareth Bale.
SUBS: Ben Woodburn, Sam Vokes, Harry Wilson, Matthew Smith, Will Vaulks, Adam Davies, Chris Mepham, Danny Ward, Rabbi Matondo, Connor Roberts, Neil Taylor, Tom Lockyer.
The players are emerging from the tunnel and we are nearing kick-off at the Groupama Arena.
James started quietly, but he really grew into the game as it went on by embarking on a string of dangerous runs. Wales must get the ball to him as much as they can in the second half, as the Hungary defence has struggled to deal with his quick feet and pace.
The hosts now find themselves in an excellent position after four matches, with their next qualifier coming against Slovakia in September. Meanwhile, this result could be very damaging for Wales who have lost their last two matches. Giggs' side must bounce back against Azerbaijan in September if they are to have any chance of qualification.
That's all from the Groupama Arena. Thank you for following our live coverage of this Euro 2020 qualifier!
