Carrillo is booked just a few minutes after coming on, as he arrives late with a challenge on Rosales. Peru aren't able to win the ball back here despite Venezuela being a man down.
90' +2
Taking no chances are Venezuela, as they win a free-kick in a dangerous position with Guerrero fouling Herrera. It's in a good spot for a shot, but instead they opt to play it short and move towards the corner flag once again, only this time Peru are quick to snuff it out.
90'
Venezuela have the ball deep in the Peru end, near the corner flag, as they run precious time off the clock. There will be five minutes added on at the end of this match.
88'
A. Carrillo enters the game and replaces C. Gonzáles.
Peru go to the bench for a final time in advance of a corner, as Carrillo replaces Gonzales in a straight swap.
86'
Deflected behind! Well it's the 10 men of Venezuela who are threatening here into the final five minutes, and it's Soteldo who makes a strong run into the centre to get on the end of Machis' cross, but his first-time effort is blocked behind for a corner.
84'
Y. Soteldo enters the game and replaces J. Murillo.
Venezuela's final change sees Soteldo, the young Santos midfielder, come on in place of Murillo.
82'
Y. Herrera gets yellow.
The referee brings play back to book Herrera for a bad foul in the build-up to that last chance.
78'
R. Hernández enters the game and replaces J. Moreno.
A second Venezuela change sees Hernandez replace Moreno, as Dudamel opts to bring on defensive reinforcements.
75'
L. Mago gets a second yellow card and is sent off.
VENEZUELA DOWN TO 10 MEN! Mago arrives late and follows through with his challenge on Polo after the ball was gone, clattering through the substitute and sending him to ground. It's a completely senseless challenge, especially on a booking, as the referee doesn't hesitate in producing a second yellow!

Description
73'
The intensity is really picking up now as the tackles come flying in. There's a real sense of urgency not to concede, with both sides knowing what a blow a defeat would be for their hopes.
69'
D. Machís enters the game and replaces J. Savarino.
Dudamel goes to his bench for the first time today as Machis replaces Savarino.
67'
Fresh legs for Peru as Polo enters the fray at the expense of Yotun. It's a 27th cap for the 24-year-old Portland Timbers attacker.
66'
A. Polo enters the game and replaces Y. Yotún.
60'
Entertaining scenes in Porto Alegre as both sides continue to attack with real pace. That being said, neither are preparred to give chase off the ball, reluctant to press to win it back, which has really limited the amount of opportunities these sides have had on the break.
58'
Not quite! Venezuela break in numbers as Saravino sprints half the length of the pitch with daylight ahead of him. He has a pair of options to his left, but picks out the wrong one as Rondon strayed a few yards behind the defence before the ball was played in to him. Wasteful.
56'
Continuing in the ascendancy are Peru, but Venezuela remain up to the task at the back. This time Villanueva atones for his error with a really strong defensive header, denying Guerrero from getting on the end of an inviting cross in from the left.
54'
Peru do well to respond, working the ball forward well as a througball is played in for Guerrero, but smartly cut out by Chancellor, before a miskick by Villanueva gifts Peru a corner. Los Incas are unable to do anything with the resulting set piece, however, as the pressure is relieved.
50'
It's all Venezuela to begin this second half, looking bright in possession as they continue to get after this Peru defence. Murillo makes a strong run down the left flank, cutting in onto his right for a shot, but his curled effort lacks any power as Gallese makes a simple save.
48'
An early chance for Venezuela in the second half as they win a free-kick in the centre of the pitch, around 30 yards out - at least - from goal. Rondon claims it and drives a fierce, low strike around the wall and in towards the near post, but just misses the target. It looked as though Gallese would have had it covered had he been required.
46'
É. Flores enters the game and replaces C. Cueva.
Peru get the second half underway!
One change at the break, and it's Peru who make it, as Flores comes on at the expense of Cueva, who appeared to be battling an injury throughout that first half.
45' +4
HALF-TIME: VENEZUELA 0-0 PERU.
45'
Perhaps surprisingly, four minutes will be added on at the end of this half. It feels like there were at least six minutes worth of stoppages.
40'
Into the final five minutes of the first half, but there figures to be at least five more added on. There's been a wealth of injury stoppages, as well as a significant VAR delay. Still time for one of these sides to break the deadlock before the interval.
38'
It's Peru who have snatched momentum back, now finding themselves in the ascendancy. Guerrero escapes his marker to get on the end of Yotun's cross, but the striker can't get the contact right as he lifts a strike over the bar.
30'
Venezuela have really grown in the ascendancy over the last 15 minutes, getting stronger and stronger as time passes. Peru are having a lot more defending to do, and the gap in time between their attacks is becoming larger.
26'
R. Tapia gets yellow.
Nasty challenge, and a cynical one at best from Tapia, who takes one for the team as he slides in to take down Murillo on the left edge of the penalty area, with the Venezuela attacker having the Peru midfielder beaten for pace. It's a yellow for Tapia, who can have few complaints.
19'
Well things have certainly burst to life following a sluggish start to the match. It's been wonderfully open since the disallowed goal, with both sides keen to push forward with pace. There were no shortage of goals when these nations met in World Cup qualifying.
15'
Venezuela respond with a tidy spell in possession. Their build-up play is patient, but probing, as Rincon is eventually teed up for a strike from 25 yards. The skipper makes delicious contact with the strike, but but it's bravely deflected behind by Tapia.
6'
L. Mago gets yellow.
Guerrero gets involved for the first time today and he lures Mago into a hard foul on the wing, which sees the Venezuela full-back into the referee's book.
5'
This cautious approach shouldn't come as much of a surprise. With a tough date against Brazil and more negotiable one against Bolivia up next for these nations, they know how crucial it is to get a result here. The loser would be significantly behind the eight ball in terms of their hopes of progressing.
3'
It's been a very slow, controlled start in Porto Alegre, with neither side particularly keen in committing bodies forward. Venezuela enjoy a spell of possession inside their own half, before Peru have one of their own. Plenty of passing among defenders early on.
1'
AND THEY'RE OFF! Venezuela in their traditional burgundy kits as they get the match underway, with Peru in their white kit with that vintage red stripe.
Hello and welcome to live coverage of this Copa America match as Venezuela and Peru clash at Gremio Arena!
Venezuela and Peru arrive in Brazil bursting with potential, without the expectations of some of the bigger nations – a dangerous mix for two nations fully equipped to make a deep run in this tournament.
Popular darkhorse picks, and with good reason, Venezuela are no longer making up numbers in Conmebol. The Vinotinto have made outstanding progress under Rafael Dudamel and will be keen to improve on a strong showing at 2016’s tournament.
It was at that same tournament Peru ousted Brazil with a famous win in their final group match. In 2018 they ended a 36-year World Cup drought, and now they arrive in Brazil 12 months later with nearly an identical squad.
The hope is the cohesion will continue their momentum and lead Peru to a first title since 1975. The hope for Venezuela is that the handful of players who helped them reach the final at the 2017 Under-20 World Cup can blend with an experienced core, and translate their success to the senior level.
PERU (4-2-3-1): Pedro Gallese; Luis Advincula, Carlos Zambrano, Luis Abram, Miguel Trauco; Renato Tapia, Yoshimar Yotun; Jefferson Farfan, Christian Cueva, Christofer Gonzales; Paolo Guerrero.
SUBS: Yordan Osorio, Fernando Aristeguieta, Juan Pablo Anor, Rolf Feltscher, Rafael Romo, Arquimedes Figuera, Darwin Machis, Yeferson Soteldo, Luis Seijas, Josef Martinez, Ronald Hernandez, Joel Graterol.
SUBS: Patricio Alvarez, Miguel Araujo, Josepmir Ballon, Carlos Caceda, Aldo Corzo, Raul Ruidiaz, Alexander Callens, Jesus Pretell, Edison Flores, Anderson Santamaria, Andre Carrillo, Andy Polo.
Dudamel should look to bring on Martinez for the second half. Venezuela have shown good chemistry in possession, and an undeniable ability to get forward, but Rondon has been a bit too isolated up top. He could really benefit with Martinez coming on to partner him.
Peru will face Bolivia next, while Venezuela have a date with hosts Brazil. That's all for our live coverage, thanks for following along. Goodbye!
VENEZUELA (4-3-3): Wuilker Farinez; Roberto Rosales, Jhon Chancellor, Mikel Villanueva, Luis Mago; Junior Moreno, Tomas Rincon, Yangel Herrera; Jhon Murillo, Jefferson Savarino, Salomon Rondon.
