A deep free-kick is hammered into the Atletico box, but Oblak claims it comfortably and Eibar look increasingly desperate here.
90' +1
Seven minutes are added on as Eibar look to recover from that heartbreak and find an equaliser.
90'
T. Partey has scored a goal for Atletico Madrid!
3-2 Atletico! Well, I said Partey was a more defensive replacement for Felix, but he's scored what's likely to be the winner! A clever one-two between Costa and Partey bobbles through to the latter 12 yards out, and he dribbles past the final defender before poking past Dmitrovic from close range.
88'
Another free-flowing Atletico move ends with the final ball slightly under-hit. This time Costa finds himself free 25 yards from goal, but his quick pass can't quite reach Vitolo.
86'
Rober Correa enters the game and replaces Pedro León.
Leon makes way for Correa with Eibar looking for renewed energy in the final five minutes of the 90.
84'
T. Partey enters the game and replaces João Félix.
Felix is replaced by the more defensive Partey in a substitution that'll enable Atletico to push Vitolo into more dangerous areas.
81'
Atletico win a free-kick 40 yards from goal, wide on the left. Koke swings a looping cross into the six-yard box but Dmitrovic does excellently to rise above the bodies and claim it.
78'
Rodrigo Riquelme enters the game and replaces T. Lemar.
Lemar is replaced by young winger Riquelme as Atletico attempt to push Eibar even further back.
75'
Costa barrels forward and rides a few challenges in the centre of the pitch, but his threaded pass to Vitolo is just cut out.
Minute
Description
73'
Atletico are gradually pushing Eibar further and further back as we approach the final 15 minutes. The away side have repelled attacks admirably so far though, and you wouldn't be surprised if they could hold on and claim a precious point.
69'
M. Dmitrović gets yellow.
Dmitrovic scurries out of goal to clear a long pass away from Costa, and then cynically prevents Atletico from taking a quick throw-in to capitalise on his absence from goal. He simply grabbed the ball after it went out of play and forcibly kept it from a desperate Costa! Unsurprisingly, he's awarded a yellow card.
67'
Eibar make a foray forward as they spread the play out towards Orellana, but there's no one in the box to meet his cross and Atletico win back possession.
65'
A well-worked Atletico move finds its way out towards Trippier on the right flank. He measures a superbly weighted cross to Lemar 12 yards out, but his volley is well blocked by Tejero at an angle.
63'
Kike García enters the game and replaces Charles.
Charles has worked hard up front and deserved the goal for his efforts, but he's now replaced by Kike up top.
61'
A loose pass falls to Charles 25 yards from goal, but the Eibar attacker tries to slip a through ball inside to Orellana who can't quite reach it.
59'
It was a tight call, but eventually the Video Assistant decides not to award Costa the goal, and play resumes.
55'
Paulo Oliveira enters the game and replaces Sergio Álvarez.
Alvarez sustained a nasty injury while stretching to try and intercept the pass to Lodi there. Unfortunately, he needs a stretcher before being replaced by Oliveira.
52'
Vitolo has scored a goal for Atletico Madrid! Assist by Renan Lodi.
ATLETICO EQUALISE! Immediate impact for Vitolo! Lodi makes another enterprising run, and this time his pass is perfect for Vitolo, who races beyond the final Eibar defender and pokes a weak shot just beyond the onrushing Dmitrovic!
Lodi's been afforded too much space already in this half, and he makes Eibar pay with an incisive run and an assured pass through to Vitolo.
51'
Lodi makes a dashing run from right back into the heart of the pitch, eventually, he tries to slip a clever reverse pass through to Costa, but Dmitrovic slides out to get there first.
48'
A spell of possession backfires for the hosts as Hermoso's backpass is hit far too severely and Oblak can't prevent Atletico from conceding a corner. From the delivery, Charles manages to find space for a volley from eight yards, but the angle's tight and it goes sailing harmlessly wide.
46'
Vitolo enters the game and replaces Marcos Llorente.
Llorente is replaced by the more attacking Vitolo as Atletico look to pose more of a threat in this period.
45' +4
HALF TIME: Atletico 1-2 Eibar
45' +1
Lemar latches onto a header from Costa this time, and dribbles menacingly at the Eibar backline before being driven away from goal by some well-organised defending.
45'
Four minutes of stoppage time are added as Eibar look to protect their lead going into the interval.
Atletico kick us off for the second half attacking from left to right.
43'
Costa flicks another header onto the lively Felix, but the former Benfica striker is caught offside for the second time. Costa's doing an excellent job of winning long balls, if his partner can time his runs slightly better Eibar will be in trouble.
41'
Charles goes down again - this time with a head injury - after an aerial duel with Hermoso. But once again, it looks like he should be able to continue.
39'
Eibar launch a long free-kick into the box from the halfway line that Alvarez can only head away for a goal kick despite stretching enthusiastically.
37'
Eibar are by no means sitting back and waiting for Ateltico to attack though. They're relentlessly pressing the home side's midfield three, and have forced a number of errant passes.
33'
Atletico are appealing for a penalty after Lodi swung a cross into Felix, only for the striker to seemingly get clipped from behind. The referee is unmoved though, and Eibar survive a minor scare.
31'
That injury - coupled with Eibar retaining possession amongst their backline - has taken the sting out of the game. Atletico haven't been able to generate too much forward momentum since getting one back.
29'
There's a sigificant break in play as Charles goes down with an injury, but eventually, he gets up and looks okay to continue.
27'
João Félix has scored a goal for Atletico Madrid! Assist by Diego Costa.
ATLETICO GET ONE BACK! Costa and Felix play a delightful one-two that sets the former clean through on goal. He muscles off his pursuer before squaring the ball past Dmitrovic and into the path of Felix who slots the ball calmly into an empty net!
That was a magnificent interchange between Atletico's two frontmen. They unselfishly shuttled possession between each other until Felix was presented with an opening that he couldn't miss!
25'
Atletico are struggling for rhythm after the shock of conceding a second goal. They're urgently passing through the midfield, but they continue to lose possession carelessly in these moves.
23'
Eibar try and initiate another counter-attack with a hopeful ball over the top to Inui, but Giminez shuffles across to intercept the pass and build a new Atletico move.
21'
Well this is certainly an unlikely start, but Eibar will be thrilled. They've held on during the many Atletico attacks, and they've incisively taken their opportunities at the other end.
19'
Anaitz Arbilla has scored a goal for Eibar!
2-0! What a stroke of fortune for Eibar! Another Orellana cross is hacked clear, but only as far as Arbilla who leathers a savage shot at goal: it looks relatively straightforward for Oblak, but it takes a deflection off Giminez and into the roof of the net! Oblak stood no chance after that deviation took the shot away from his grasp!
16'
Felix latches onto a header from Costa and he's seemingly in the clear, but Arbilla races back to put in a fantastic lunging challenge to poke the ball out of harm's way.
15'
Fabián Orellana gets yellow.
Orellana is booked for a heavy challenge on Costa, but Atletico waste a dangerous free-kick with a delivery that evades all the onrushing attackers.
9'
Atletico attempt to regain their composure with a spell of a possession that finally ends with Felix being caught offside.
7'
Charles has scored a goal for Eibar! Assist by Fabián Orellana.
EIBAR TAKE THE LEAD! The away side hit Atletico on the break brilliantly there! Leon began the move by driving at the home side's backline, before slipping Orellana in behind, who simply clipped a cross in for the unmarked Charles to power past Oblak!
Orellana managed to jink past Lodi and free himself to chip in the perfect cross! Charles may have finished the move, but that was a true team goal.
5'
Saul attemps a daring pass in behind the Eibar defence and Felix very nearly latches onto it. However, Dmitrovic got there first and managed to expel the danger.
4'
T. Inui gets yellow.
Inui's booked for an aggressive challenge that leaves Trippier in a heap, leaving the referee with little option but to caution the Eibar winger.
2'
Atletico make their first foray forward of the game as Felix drives at the Eibar defence. He tries to slip a pass in between two defenders to Trippier, but it's overhit and runs away for a goal kick.
1'
Eibar kick us off attacking from right to left.
Inui immediately runs at the Atletico defence, before trying his luck with a speculative shot from distance that goes well over.
Hello and welcome to this La Liga clash between Atletico Madrid and Eibar in La Liga. Atletico come into this game in fine spirits with two wins from two, and new record signing Joao Felix seemingly settling in superbly – they’ll be expecting a comfortable win today. Eibar, on the other hand, have just one point from their first two games and will be entering this fixture with little confidence.
SUBS: Antonio Adan, Santiago Arias, Thomas Partey, Hector Herrera, Felipe, Vitolo, Rodrigo Riquelme.
SUBS: Gonzalo Escalante, Quique Gonzalez, Paulo Oliveira, Yoel Rodriguez, Pablo De Blasis, Kike Garcia, Rober Correa.
EIBAR (4-2-3-1): Marko Dmitrovic; Alvaro Tejero, Sergio Alvarez, Ivan Ramis, Anaitz Arbilla; Pape Diop, Edu Exposito; Pedro Leon, Fabian Orellana, Takashi Inui; Charles.
The players are in the tunnel, and kick-off is seconds away!
ATLETICO (4-3-1-2): Jan Oblak; Kieran Trippier, Jose Giminez, Hermoso, Renan Lodi; Koke, Saul Niguez, Marcos Llorente; Thomas Lemar; Diego Costa, Joao Felix.
What a brilliant half for Eibar. Fresh off two winless games they attacked with belief early on and took the lead after engineering a simple headed chance for Charles. Their enthusiasm soon led to a second goal, where Arbilla's speculative shot from distance took a skidding deflection that wrong-footed a helpless Oblak. Atletico's dangerous strikeforce managed to get a goal back though, after Costa's selfless pass set up Felix for an easy finish into an open net.
It'll be tough for Eibar to cling on against such a talented side away from home, but they were excellent defensively in the first period and will be looking to replicate that performance in the second half.
That's all for today though, goodbye!
Eibar defended stoutly for most of the game, and to lose so late on will be devastating. However, they showed more than enough spirit and creativity to know that their form should pick up. For Atletico though, it's three wins from three - and the perfect start to the season!
