We're under way at Carrow Road.
Good afternoon and welcome to the live commentary of the Premier League clash between Norwich City and Manchester City at Carrow Road.
Norwich have been handed a tough start to the campaign, facing Liverpool, Chelsea and now Manchester City in their opening five matches. The Canaries beat Newcastle United in their opening home game, but have lost back-to-back games in the Premier League to Chelsea and West Ham and three on the bounce including the EFL Cup defeat to Crawley. Daniel Farke had a number of injuries to contend with this evening against the defending champions, who will not be in the mood for mercy.
Manchester City have been imperious to start the season, dropping only two points in a draw with Tottenham. Since then they've eased past Bournemouth on the road and hammered Brighton & Hove Albion at the Etihad Stadium. Liverpool maintained their impressive start to the term, winning their fifth game in a row. Pep Guardiola and his team will be desperate to respond to keep in stride with the Reds at the top of the table.
NORWICH CITY (4-2-3-1): Tim Krul; Sam Byram, Ibrahim Amadou, Ben Godfrey, Jamal Lewis; Kenny McLean, Alexander Tettey; Emiliano Buendia, Marco Stiepermann, Todd Cantwell; Teemu Pukki.
NORWICH CITY SUBS: Grant Hanley, Philip Heise, Josip Drmic, Ralf Fahrmann, Dennis Srbeny, Michael McGovern, Adam Idah.
MANCHESTER CITY (4-3-3): Ederson; Kyle Walker, John Stones, Nicolas Otamendi, Oleksandr Zinchenko; Ilkay Gundogan, Rodri, David Silva; Bernardo Silva, Sergio Aguero, Raheem Sterling.
MANCHESTER CITY SUBS: Claudio Bravo, Gabriel Jesus, Kevin De Bruyne, Fernandinho, Riyad Mahrez, Joao Cancelo, Phil Foden.
Pep Guardiola will have been furious with the manner of his side's performance in the first half. They were too passive and allowed Norwich to dictate the terms of the game. It seemed to take Cantwell's goal to wake them from their slumber. Aguero has got them back into the contest and it would not be a surprise to see City seize the initiative in the second period.
Norwich have a week to prepare for their next match on the road against Burnley, while City begin their Champions League campaign on Wednesday against Shakhtar Donetsk.
Thanks for joining our commentary this evening. Until next time, goodbye.
