And we're off at a cold St Mary’s!
Hello and welcome to this live text commentary of this Premier League match between Southampton and Watford at St. Mary's Stadium.
It's 19th against 20th as Southampton face Watford. Both of these sides really need wins - Southampton were unlucky not to beat Arsenal away at the Emirates last week, while Watford went down meekly 3-0 at home to Burnley.
Southampton sport the worst defence in the division, but at least they look able to score goals, which is more than Watford can say so far this season. A victory for either side here might go a long way to getting them out of trouble. But who will get it, if anyone? Let's find out!
SOUTHAMPTON (4-4-2): Alex McCarthy; Cedric Soares, Jack Stephens, Jan Bednarek, Ryan Bertrand; Moussa Djenepo, James Ward-Prowse, Pierre-Emile Højbjerg (c), Nathan Redmond; Danny Ings, Michael Obafemi.
SUBS: Yan Valery, Angus Gunn, Shane Long, Oriol Romeu, Sofiane Boufal, Che Adams, Maya Yoshida.
WATFORD (3-5-2): Ben Foster; Adrian Mariappa, Craig Cathcart, Adam Masina; Kiko Femenía, Abdoulaye Doucoure, Etienne Capoue (c), Will Hughes, José Holebas; Gerard Deulofeu, Ismaila Sarr.
The teams are on the pitch. Southampton will play in their usual red and white stripes, while Watford are in their away blue kit.
Southampton's win lifts them to 18th in the Premier League table on 12 points, just two points from 17th. Norwich could overtake them if they beat Arsenal at home tomorrow. Watford stay bottom. They're now two points adrift and six from safety.
Southampton will return to St.Mary's in a few days to play Norwich in what could surely be another relegation six-pointer. What confidence they'll have after this. Watford must travel away to Leicester. They've got a long winter ahead of them. That's all for now. Goodbye!
