K. De Bruyne gets yellow.
De Bruyne comes through on McTominay, catching him with an extended leg after missing the initial tackle. It’s a challenge that comes out of frustration - but it won’t save him from a yellow card.
76'
Manchester look out of ideas as they pour forward with no real cohesion. Manchester United, thanks to the early goal, have been able to sit back in their positions and hold shape - attacking rapidly whenever the hosts misplay a pass. As long as they maintain their intensity, the Red Devils should be able to see it out.

Andreas Pereira enters the game and replaces A. Martial.
Andreas Pereira gets yellow.
Pereira goes immediately into the referee’s notebook, earning a yellow card for a cynical foul in midfield, catching the ankle of Sterling who was sprinting forward on a counter-attack.
Looking to settle the final 15 minutes of the match - Solskjaer removes Martial and replaces him with Pereira.
71'
Mahrez gets on the end of a disguised David Silva pass and attempts to put a cross in at the near post, but it’s blocked out for a corner by Shaw.
69'
Absolutely disgusting behaviour as Fred, who went across to take a corner-kick, has been hit by flying projectiles thrown from the stands. He seems to be feeling it on the back of his neck - but he comes back to take the set-piece.
67'
James leads a counter-attack after winning the ball from Angelino, and he sends a pass across the penalty area for Lingard, who draws a save at the near post from Ederson.

61'
With Zinchenko who features regularly at left-back and Laporte already unable to play due to injury, the hamstring problem for Stones is a very serious issue. Fernandinho is already employed in the centre of defence following his move from midfield - which means Manchester City have virtually one fit, natural centre-back.
59'
N. Otamendi enters the game and replaces J. Stones.
Stones will be unable to continue following that hamstring injury, and Otamendi will be forced to come into the match after an hour.

Manchester United have remained organised and compact in defence, greatly troubling their city rivals. It’s an exercise in counter-attacking football which Solskjaer seems more than capable of handling - as we approach the hour and De Gea has not been sufficiently tested.
50'
Fred takes a free-kick on the right wing, but it doesn’t have the lift required - allowing De Bruyne to hammer it away easily.
48'
Angelino opens up a sight at goal for David Silva with an ingenious reverse-pass, but the Manchester City captain confuses his cross for a shot as it misses the far corner without troubling the goalkeeper.
46'
Manchester City get the match restarted from the kick-off!

45'

43'
City have another free-kick, this time in a more central position, 25 yards away from goal. David Silva and De Bruyne stand over it, but it’s the Spain international who strikes it with his left - though it doesn’t present any danger to De Gea’s goal as the shot-stopper saves comfortably.
41'
De Bruyne goes for goal from a free-kick stationed on the left corner of the 18-yard box, but he only catches the top of the net as De Gea is left unworked.

De Bruyne has a moment of genius with a delightful flick from the inside-right position, just steps away from the penalty area. It arcs wonderfully for Jesus who takes flight in an attempt to head it towards goal - but he misses the target by quite a large margin.
37'
James puts a dangerous ball across the face of goal for Martial, but the striker is a step behind as it rolls on for Walker. The Manchester United right winger has delivered fantastic service thus far - constantly tempting team-mates to attack.

31'
The reigning Premier League champions look stunned as they’ve conceded two goals in the opening 30 minutes. The stadium has quieted a bit in disbelief, putting the impetus back on the players. They’ve an hour to respond - which should be plenty.
29'

INCREDIBLE SCENES AT THE ETIHAD AS MANCHESTER UNITED GO 2-0 UP! With Angelino in his face, he shifts his weight to open up some room, before finding the bottom corner of the near post!
28'
David Silva looks to find Bernardo Silva with a cross from the left, but De Gea makes his presence felt as he comes off his line and picks the ball out of the air.
23'
Penalty goal scored by M. Rashford for Manchester United!
MANCHESTER UNITED’S NUMBER 10 MAKES NO MISTAKE! 1-0! Rashford coolly steps up and rolls a penalty low into the bottom-right corner of the goal, sending Ederson in the wrong direction! The visitors have the lead!
22'
Bernardo Silva gets yellow.
Bernardo Silva is also shown a yellow card after VAR overturned the decision and deemed that the Manchester City forward fouled Rashford!
15'
Martial is again involved as he receives a pass on the right edge of the penalty area from James and has a shot at goal - which again Ederson can push away relatively comfortably.
13'
Walker switches play with a powerful cross, but it’s for nought as Sterling’s pass through for Angelino is overhit, allowing De Gea to watch it out for a goal-kick.
11'
A lovely interchange between Sterling and David Silva goes to waste as Angelino - who made the overlapping run down the flank - puts in a shocking delivery which exits the box on the other side for Shaw to recover.
9'
David Silva turns in midfield and hits it long over the top for the run of Sterling, but it rolls into the penalty area where De Gea can come off his line and grab.

Manchester United get the derby underway from the kick-off! 90 of full-on football are sure to follow!
Manchester City welcome their rivals to the Etihad, looking to end the day level on points with Leicester City in second. It’s been a rough run of results for Pep Guardiola’s side, as defensive injuries have hamstrung his team selection; their last clean sheet coming in October. Form goes out the window on occasions like these, however, as derbies rarely follow form patterns.
Hello and welcome to our LIVE commentary of the Premier League fixture between Manchester City and Manchester United!
Manchester United enter the 179th edition of the Manchester Derby off the back of an exciting 2-1 victory in midweek over Jose Mourinho’s Tottenham. The win took the Red Devils into sixth position - though Champions League is still eight points away. With Ole Gunnar Solskjaer facing pressure surrounding his position - a win over the blue half of the city would go a long way.
MANCHESTER UNITED XI (4-2-3-1): David De Gea; Aaron Wan-Bissaka, Victor Lindelof, Harry Maguire, Luke Shaw; Scott McTominay, Fred; Daniel James, Jesse Lingard, Marcus Rashford; Anthony Martial.
MANCHESTER CITY SUBS: Riyad Mahrez, Claudio Bravo, Nicolas Otamendi, Benjamin Mendy, Joao Cancelo, Phil Foden, Ilkay Gundogan.
MANCHESTER CITY XI (4-3-3): Ederson; Angelino, Fernandinho, John Stones, Kyle Walker; David Silva, Rodri, Kevin De Bruyne; Raheem Sterling, Gabriel Jesus, Bernardo Silva.
With 15 minutes to go before kick-off, let's take a look how the two will line up today - starting with the hosts!
MANCHESTER UNITED SUBS: Andreas Pereira, Axel Tuanzebe, Ashley Young, Sergio Romero, Brandon Williams, Mason Greenwood, Juan Mata.
Manchester City have no other option but to emerge from the break and attack in search of a goal which will get them back into the match. Sterling’s pace has been thoroughly negated by the presence of Wan-Bissaka, though Bernardo Silva has offered little on the other side. Perhaps the introduction of Mahrez or Cancelo would open the match up a bit - especially as legs begin to tire. For United, they must stay compact and resolute but utilise their outlet passes - employing the pace of the forwards to relieve pressure on De Gea’s goal.
That concludes our commentary of the Manchester Derby! We hope you enjoyed it!
Manchester City have an away trip in the Champions League to Dinamo Zagreb before travelling to the Emirates to face Arsenal next Sunday. Manchester United host AZ in Thursday’s Europa League fixture, before welcoming Everton to Old Trafford.
