Hayden gets the game underway for Newcastle!
Hello and welcome to live coverage of the Premier League meeting between Newcastle United and Burnley at St. James' Park!
Newcastle have been struggling for form in recent weeks, having won just one of their last nine league games (D3 L5). They come into this game on a four-game winless run and are in desperate need of a goal after failing to score in their last three outings. They face a Burnley side who are unbeaten in their last five Premier League games (W4 D1), as they continue to steadily climb up the table.
NEWCASTLE UNITED STARTING XI (4-4-1-1): Martin Dubravka; Javier Manquillo, Federico Fernandez, Jamaal Lascelles, Danny Rose; Miguel Almiron, Isaac Hayden, Jonjo Shelvey, Matt Ritchie; Dwight Gayle; Joelinton.
NEWCASTLE UNITED SUBS: Karl Darlow, DeAndre Yedlin, Allan Saint-Maximin, Nabil Bentaleb, Fabian Schar, Florian Lejeune, Sean Longstaff.
BURNLEY STARTING XI (4-4-2): Nick Pope; Phil Bardsley, James Tarkowski, Ben Mee, Charlie Taylor; Jeff Hendrick, Jack Cork, Ashley Westwood, Dwight McNeil; Matej Vydra, Jay Rodriguez.
BURNLEY SUBS: Joe Hart, Kevin Long, Josh Brownhill, Chris Wood, Aaron Lennon, Erik Pieters, Robbie Brady.
The teams are out on the pitch now, with kick-off just moments away.
Bruce will be pleased with how his side played going forwards in the first half, but he needs his players to be more clinical in front of goal if they want to end their goal drought. As for Burnley, they haven't had a shot on target yet and Dyche will expect that to change after the break if they want to get something from this game.
That's all for today, goodbye!
Newcastle's winless run in the league now extends to five games and they have failed to find the back of the net in the last four. Their attention turns to the FA Cup where they face West Brom on Tuesday. Burnley are now unbeaten in their last six games and move above Arsenal into ninth. Next up for them is a tough match against Tottenham.
