There’s some hopeful appeals for handball from Schalke’s players after the free-kick is delivered, but there is nothing doing for the referee. Surely that’s game over?
90' +2
Muller tries to round off the win with a strike from the edge of the box, but lashes over and now Schalke will get a final chance to attack, which results in Gnabry conceding a free-kick. Schubert is up for it!
90'
B. Raman gets yellow.
Raman has received a booking for his foul on Muller, as the fourth official signals for three minutes of stoppage time.
87'
M. Gregoritsch enters the game and replaces T. Becker.
Wagner uses the break in play to make his final substitution. Becker has made way for Gregoritsch.
86'
W. McKennie gets yellow.
McKennie goes into the book for a late lunge on Thiago.
85'
J. Zirkzee enters the game and replaces C. Tolisso.
A first change for Bayern and it’s an attacking one from Flick. Zirkzee, fresh from scoring against Hoffenheim, is on in place of Tolisso.
84'
Some great improvisation from Todibo who, under pressure from Gnabry right on Schalke’s byline, clears the ball using a Rabona. However, Bayern are doing well to keep Schalke pinned within their own third as the clock ticks down.
83'
A. Kutucu enters the game and replaces R. Matondo.
A second change now for Schalke. The impressive Matondo has made way for Kutucu.
81'
Matondo has certainly put a big shift in for Schalke and he does well to shake off Alaba. However, the Bayern defender had done enough to force his opponent towards the byline, and the winger’s subsequent cross sails harmlessly wide.

Description
79'
Almost! Kenny switches off from a Bayern corner and Gnabry very nearly capitalises, but he is just unable to squeeze in a finish at the back post.
77'
Excellent defending from Nastasic and Todibo, who recover to prevent Goretzka getting through one-on-one with Schubert as Bayern search desperately for a second goal.
75'
Kimmich puts in a brilliant corner which is begging to be turned in, but a Schalke defender gets there first. McKennie leads a charge of blue shirts on the counter, with the ball eventually dropped in towards Raman, but he can’t find a team-mate with his attempted cutback.
69'
Good save! Bayern very nearly get that goal, as Gnabry gets into the box down the right and lashes a strike towards the near post. Schubert, though, deals with it and puts it out for a corner.
68'
Bayern can’t make anything of the free-kick, but still Schalke are unable to get back on the ball. However, as that chance for Raman just proved, the visitors need another goal to settle this tie.
66'
M. Nastasić gets yellow.
G. Burgstaller gets yellow.
The first bookings of the match come out from the referee. First, Nastasic sees yellow for bringing down Tolisso on the edge of Schalke’s area.
For his complaints over that decision, Burgstaller has also gone into the book.
64'
B. Raman enters the game and replaces N. Boujellab.
After seeing a corner cleared, Schalke make their first change. Boujellab has been replaced by Raman.
59'
A Thiago free-kick is cleared by Schalke’s defence and moments later Burgstaller is leading a counter-attack. However, his touch gets away from him and Bayern are swiftly back on the front foot.
55'
It has been a rather subdued start to the second half from both sides. Bayern seem content to take their time in an attempt to pick their way through, while Schalke are sitting deep, looking to play on the counter.
52'
An embarrassing moment for Muller, who puts a corner straight out of play down on the right. It has been a difficult game for the forward so far.
50'
Another smart stop from Schubert, who gets down to a low cross-shot from Gnabry. The Bayern winger has been kept relatively quiet so far, though only needs one opening to do the damage.
48'
Bright play from Matondo, but after a good run inside he doesn’t manage to get a pass off on the edge of Bayern’s box, allowing Tolisso to intervene.
46'
Schalke get the second half up and running. Bayern lead 1-0 thanks to Kimmich’s 40th-minute goal.
45' +1
HALF-TIME: SCHALKE 0-1 BAYERN MUNICH.
43'
Kimmich’s influence on this Bayern side cannot be underestimated. Whether playing in midfield or at right-back – such as today – the 25-year-old always seems to come up with the goods in the big moments.
42'
It’s tough luck for Schalke, who have more than held their own so far. Now, they must focus on getting to half-time without conceding another, or this tie could well be over.
40'
J. Kimmich has scored a goal for Bayern Munich!
GOOOOAAALLL!! BAYERN TAKE THE LEAD! A headed clearance from a corner lands on the edge of the area, where Kimmich is waiting for it and, on the spin, the Germany international drills a half-volley through the legs of McKennie and into the bottom-left corner. It’s 1-0 to Bayern.
36'
Nine minutes remain until half-time and, so far, it has been an extremely even tie at VELTINS-Arena. Wagner will likely be the happier coach so far, though will know his side have to take the next chance which comes their way.
32'
Schalke fail to clear a corner and the ball is recycled back out to Thiago, whose first-time shot is deflected wide for another set-piece. Kimmich delivers… but Schalke again manage to keep it out.
30'
Brilliant work from Davies, who is enjoying such an excellent season despite playing out of his natural position at left-back. Matondo had done well to initially escape the youngster, but the Canada international recovered to make a fine challenge.
27'
A foul from McKennie on Tolisso hands Bayern a free-kick 25 yards out. However, Coutinho’s effort is a poor one and he fails to lift it over the wall.
25'
Almost for Burgstaller! A free-kick was dropped into Bayern’s box from the right, and the striker looked set to get on the end of it, but Neuer had other ideas, rushing off his line to gather in the loose ball.
24'
Muller manages to find space in the centre of the area, but can only end his resulting effort high and wide of Schalke’s goal.
14'
Well, Bayern may have dominated the ball but the two chances have been Schalke’s. Pavard cushions a first-time cross into the hosts’ area on the volley and, for a moment, Schubert looks worried it will drop in, but it sails harmlessly wide.
10'
Ten minutes played in this quarter-final and, as you would expect, Bayern have dominated the ball, with the visitors enjoying 75 per cent of the possession. However, it is Schalke who have gone closest to an opener.
8'
Schalke’s compact shape has certainly denied the likes of Gnabry and the Bayern full-backs any space in behind to exploit in the opening stages, and Coutinho – who has the ability to unlock defences with a pass or long-range shot – has been on the fringes so far.
4'
Neat footwork from Matondo gets the Schalke man out of trouble, after he had received the ball on the edge of the hosts’ area. It actually appears Schalke have lined up in a 5-4-1 shape, with Burgstaller playing up front on his own.
2'
Bayern immediately make inroads into Schalke’s territory, with Gnabry getting free down the right-hand side and attempting to pick out Muller with a low cross, but Schubert reacts quickly to get there.

Bayern – hunting a 20th DFB-Pokal title – overcame Hoffenheim in a 4-3 thriller in the last round, while Schalke got the better of Hertha Berlin in extra-time to progress to the last eight.
Hansi Flick’s Bayern side have been brilliant so far in 2020 and continued their fine form with a 6-0 rout of Hoffenheim last time out, keeping themselves clear of RB Leipzig at the top of the Bundesliga in the process. Schalke, on the other hand, are winless in their last four Bundesliga games, conceding nine times in that run and scoring just once in return.
SCHALKE (3-5-2): Markus Schubert; Jean-Clair Todibo, Matija Nastasic, Timo Becker; Jongle Kenny, Weston McKennie, Alessandro Schopf, Nassim Boujellab, Bastian Oczipka; Rabbi Matondo, Guido Burgstaller.
SCHALKE SUBS: Ahmed Kutucu, Michael Gregoritsch, Alexander Nubel, Malick Thiaw, Benito Raman, Levent Mercan, Amine Harit.
BAYERN MUNICH SUBS: Alvaro Odriozola, Javi Martinez, Michael Cuisance, Jann-Fiete Arp, Leon Dajaku, Sven Ulreich, Lars Lukas Mai, Oliver Batista Meier, Joshua Zirkzee.
BAYERN MUNICH (4-2-3-1): Manuel Neuer; Joshua Kimmich, Benjamin Pavard, David Alaba, Alphonso Davies; Corentin Tolisso, Thiago; Serge Gnabry, Leon Goretzka, Philippe Coutinho; Thomas Muller.
The teams are making their way out onto the pitch. Kick-off is just moments away.
Bayern’s lead does mean Wagner’s side will have to come out of their defensive shell after the restart, and that should open up more space for the visitors to expose. It seems vital that Schalke get the next goal in this one to keep their hopes alive.
Well, that’s all for now. Until next time, goodbye!
Bayern will be joined in the last four by 1. FC Saarbrucken, who are the first fourth-tier club to make it into the semi-finals after they defeated Fortuna Dusseldorf on penalties. Bayer Leverkusen, Union Berlin, Eintracht Frankfurt and Werder Bremen will fight for the other two places.
