The teams are out, and kick-off will soon be upon us here at Sinobo Stadium.
Thus far in the Europa League, Trpisovsky’s team are yet to lose at home. In their four matches at Sinobo Stadium, the Red and Whites have won on three occasions and drawn only once. Moreover, the hosts have conceded two home goals and scored seven in that time. The Gers, on the other hand, are unbeaten in Europe this season and have lost just one game in all competitions. Gerrard’s side have won their last four matches in the Europa League, scoring 14 goals across those outings.
Having enjoyed the lion’s share of possession in the first half, Trpisovsky will be pleased by his team’s performance thus far. Stanciu has pulled the strings in midfield, while Olayinka has had the beating of Patterson down the left-hand side of the field. Gerrard, on the other hand, will not be happy with his side’s sloppiness. The Scottish champions have failed to test the hosts’ defence, and can consider themselves a little fortunate to have an away goal.
That brings an end to our coverage of the Europa League round of 16 first-leg clash between Slavia Prague and Rangers at Sinobo Stadium. Thank you very much for joining us. Goodbye!
Before these two sides meet at Ibrox for the second leg on March 18th, Slavia Prague travel to Mlada Boleslav in their next Czech First League outing. Rangers, on the other hand, have a week to prepare for the return fixture.
