McTominay takes charge over Robertson, whipping the free-kick over the wall but also over the bar. The Manchester United midfielder appears frustrated with himself and clearly feels he should be doing better from there.
90' +1
S. Ilsanker gets yellow.
Tierney clears over the top and Ilsanker drags down McGinn. Unsurprisingly, the referee books the Austrian for his cynical interventions and the hosts have a free-kick in a great position outside the area.
90'
There will be three minutes of added time as Marshall pumps a long goal-kick down the pitch.
88'
K. McLean enters the game and replaces R. Christie.
Another Robertson corner finds the head of Hanley, who can only head over the bar from close range. Hendry is on the floor arguing with the referee about a foul but the officials are having none of it as they award a goal-kick.
Clarke makes a third change of the game, sending on McLean for Christie, who just assisted McGinn's incredible equaliser.
85'
J. McGinn has scored a goal for Scotland! Assist by R. Christie.
Christie heads towards the crowded area after Austria's initial clearance and McGinn does the rest, producing a remarkable finish over his shoulder to equalise for the hosts.
WHAT A GOOOOALLLLLLL! 2-2! Robertson’s two attempted crosses are dealt with at the near post. Christie then heads the ball back into the danger area, where McGinn produces an incredible, acrobatic left-footed finish over his shoulder. Alexander Schlager can only watch as the Aston Villa man’s strike goes across the face of goal, striking the right-hand post before nestling in the back of the net. The visitors seem to be appealing for offside but nevertheless the goal stands!
84'
Robertson works himself some space in the left-hand channel, racing towards the area and looking for Adams. Dragovic, however, intervenes and blocks out for a corner to the hosts.
83'
Adams manages to flick-on O'Donnell's initial cross towards the back post, where McGinn leaps well but the Scot can only loop a weak header over Alexander Schlager's goal.
81'
S. O'Donnell gets yellow.
O'Donnell goes in the book for petulantly throwing the ball away on the right-hand touchline after fouling Baumgartner.
80'
S. Kalajdžić has scored a goal for Austria! Assist by S. Lainer.
GOOOALLLLLL!!! 2-1 AUSTRIA! Xaver Schlager feeds out to Lainer, who whips a cross from deep towards the penalty spot. Kalajdzic manages to get in between Hanley and Hendry, looping a header back towards the top right corner of goal. Marshall rushes across but he can’t claw the ball away from the back of the net and Kalajdzic has his second for Austria!
The visitors sit on the edge of Scotland's area, working it out towards Lainer. The right-back eventually sends in a cross towards the penalty spot, where Kalajdzic produces a wonderful header to put the away side back in front.
Minute
Description
78'
C. McGregor enters the game and replaces L. Dykes.
Clarke's second change sees McGregor introduced in place of Dykes. This substitution will likely mean Adams moves more centrally, with McGregor and Christie on the flanks either side of him.
77'
Christie twists and turns away from the Austrian attentions outside the area, which allows Robertson space in the left-hand channel. The Liverpool left-back whips across the face of goal but Dykes can't get on the end of the cross.
76'
There is chaos inside the Scotland area after Baumgartner drills a teasing cross towards the near post. Marshall parries the initial danger and, with Kalajdzic ready to pounce again, two Scottish defenders step in to win the free-kick.
75'
Alaba sends in an inviting delivery towards the near post, where Xaver Schlager throws himself at the ball in an attempt to score. The visitors' midfielder fails to get the crucial last touch on it, however, and Marshall collects before throwing out into the left-hand channel.
72'
Robertson's corner slips past all the defenders at the near post and McGinn looks set to pounce. Fortunately for the away side, Grillitsch recovers to poke away a clearance before the Aston Villa man can strike.
71'
G. Hanley has scored a goal for Scotland! Assist by S. O'Donnell.
O'Donnell swings in a long free-kick, finding the head of Hanley, who heads Scotland level. The hosts have made Grillitsch pay for giving away a needless free-kick.
GOOOOOALLLL!! 1-1! Grillitsch offers the hosts a set-piece, deep in the right-hand channel. O’Donnell delivers to the far post, where Hanley escapes his marker to power a downwards header past Alexander Schlager and into the bottom right corner. The visitors have been undone by what seemed like a fairly straightforward set-piece to defend.
70'
F. Grillitsch gets yellow.
Grillitsch is late in a tackle with Dykes, sending the Scot flying in the air and offering the hosts a free-kick in the right-hand channel. For his efforts, Grillitsch joins Kalajdzic in the referee's book.
68'
L. Schaub enters the game and replaces A. Grbic.
Grbic makes way for Schaub as Foda makes his first change of this game.
67'
Lienhart comes across to turn behind McGinn's attempted cross for a corner. Robertson whips in the set-piece but he doesn't beat the first man and the visitors clear down the pitch.
66'
C. Adams enters the game and replaces S. Armstrong.
Adams makes his first senior Scotland appearance as he comes on for Armstrong to partner Dykes and Christie up top.
65'
O'Donnell sends a wayward pass down the right-hand channel and none of his team-mates can get near the ball. Adams, who commited his allegiances to Scotland this month, looks like he is being readied to come on off the bench.
62'
S. Kalajdžić gets yellow.
Tierney powers past Kalajdzic and the Austrian forwards drags the Arsenal defender down. The referee has no option but to show Kalajdzic the first Austrian yellow card of the game and he rightly does so.
61'
Armstrong and Robertson stand over the set-piece and it is the latter who delivers. The cross travels towards the back post but the referee blows for a foul and the opportunity fades away.
60'
Tierney knocks the ball past Lainer and throws himself to the floor. The referee on this occasion agrees with the hosts, awarding them a free-kick in a good wide position in the left-hand channel.
59'
After an incredibly quiet opening 50 minutes, this game has come alive in the last five minutes or so. Both sides are looking to attack and Kalajdzic's goal has opened this qualifying fixture up. How long will Clarke leave it before he sends on the likes of Fraser or Adams to chase an equaliser?
58'
Kalajdzic thinks he has a second goal after heading into the back of the net from Alaba's cross, however, the goal won't stand as the referee has already blown for a foul on Tierney in the air.
56'
Clarke's men look to respond instantly down the other end, with Christie being dragged down by Ilsanker inside Austria's area. All of the hosts scream in their appeals for a penalty but the referee shakes his head and insists play goes on.
55'
S. Kalajdžić has scored a goal for Austria!
GOOOOOOOALLLLL!!! 1-0 AUSTRIA! The visitors work the ball inside to Grillitsch, who unleashes a bouncing right-footed effort towards the bottom left corner. Marshall saves the initial effort, tamely pushing out to Kalajdzic, who makes no mistake as he taps-in from close range with his left foot. The Scottish goalkeeper will feel he has to do better with that one.
54'
Baumgartner stands up a cross towards the far post and Marshall comes to claim it, tipping a save over his head but not managing to push away the danger from inside his own area. Fortunately for the goalkeeper, his parry falls to the feet of Robertson, who manages to hook away a clearance under the pressure of Lainer.
52'
McGinn drills into the feet of Dykes, who offloads for the run of Christie. The home side seem to be away down the left-hand channel but Dragovic produces the perfect last-ditch tackle to remove the danger inside his own half.
51'
Xaver Schlager travels towards the hosts' area and pokes a pass through to Alaba. The Bayern left-back looks to have found space, however, the throughball is a little too strong and O'Donnell manages to recover and clear down the right-hand channel.
49'
L. Dykes gets yellow.
Dykes blocks Lainer's free-kick on purpose, refusing to move more than 10 yards away and the referee unsurprisingly cautions the Scotland forward.
48'
Armstrong, Christie and Dykes all exchange passes up top but the visitors defend resolutely to stop the attacking trio from progressing towards goal. McGinn then loses out in midfield but the hosts recover before Foda's side can launch a counter-attack.
47'
As the first half went on, Scotland got more and more confident in their press, led by Dykes and by the end of the half they were right up in Alexander Schlager's face. Dykes has started this half in the same manner, racing up towards the edge of the area to close down the Austrian defence.
46'
Both sets of players have returned from the tunnel at Hampden Park and the second half gets underway!
45' +1
HALF-TIME: SCOTLAND 0-0 AUSTRIA
45'
The hosts work a set-piece into the area, with Dykes eventually teeing up Christie, who whips a left-footed strike towards the bottom corner. Alexander Schlager, however, dives to his left and comfortably saves on the stroke of half-time.
44'
Another corner comes for Scotland after a deflected long-range effort and Robertson sends in another inswinging delivery. The visitors once again defend well in the air before Grillitsch buys a cheap free-kick on the edge of his own area.
41'
Armstrong thinks he has found a crossing opportunity in the left-hand channel after good work from Tierney but Ilsanker stands firm to block away before Alexander Schlager can be called upon.
38'
O'Donnell shows great feet to dance past Alaba in the right-hand channel but the Scot then fails to beat Lienhart and the hosts will have to settle for a corner-kick. Robertson whips it in over the heads of all of his team-mates and the visitors get the goal-kick.
37'
Baumgartner evades two or three tackles before finding Grillitsch, who crosses towards the back post for Lainer but the right-back is caught on his heels and it goes out for a goal-kick. Marshall sends the resulting goal-kick long and this game is in desperate need of the half-time whistle so both managers can liven things up.
35'
Xaver Schlager arrows a strike towards Marshall's goal but Hendry is there to block away. The hosts then break down the other end, however, Armstrong's pass asks far too much of Christie and the ball runs out of play.
33'
Dykes and Armstrong are on completely different wavelengths as the strike rifles a short pass out of play with the Southampton man right next to him. That pattern of play perhaps best sums up Scotland's attacking and creative woes so far in this fixture.
32'
The hosts have grown into this game after a fairly dominant start from Foda's men. On this occasion, play gets switched to the left flank, where Armstrong cuts in and fires a right-footed effort over the bar. While Clarke's men are yet to test Alexander Schlager, they have improved in the last 10 minutes or so.
29'
Armstrong seems to have the beating of Lienhart and makes it to the byline before Grillitsch produces a wonderful sliding tackle to avert the danger. O'Donnell then sends a long throw-in into the area and the visitors stand firm to head clear.
26'
Robertson gets around Armstrong on the overlap and Christie crosses towards the back post. The Liverpool left-back manages to beat Lainer in the air but he can only turn his header over the target from a tight angle to the left of goal.
25'
Alaba is offered incredible amounts of space outside the area and he drives forward, drilling a left-footed effort into the hands of Marshall from 35 yards out. Marshall, however, is never going to be beaten from that sort of range.
24'
R. Christie gets yellow.
Grillitsch and Christie collide in the middle of the park but it is the Scottish man who ends up with the second booking of the game. It seemed like a nothing tackle but the referee decides Christie has overstepped the mark.
23'
Hanley is far too enthusiastic in an aerial tackle with Kalajdzic and the visitors get a free-kick on the halfway line. The referee then gestures at the Scottish centre-back, reminding him he is on a caution already.
21'
O'Donnell has the opportunity to race forward on the right-hand side, eventually crossing towards the penalty spot. The ball hangs in the air for a while before Alexander Schlager tries to claim it, however, Dykes has different ideas, smashing into the goalkeeper before Dragovic clears long.
20'
McTominay and McGinn remain battling for possession in midfield but neither of them can get a grip of this game so far. The visitors are dominating the ball and when Clarke's men do have possession, they aren't doing much with it.
19'
O'Donnell has the chance to cross but he instead plays to the feet of Christie, who offloads onto Dykes. The striker attempts to go around his man inside the area, however, Dragovic does well to poke away before Alexander Schlager can be tested.
16'
Christie goes down the back of Lienhart's ankle and the hosts give away another foul as this fixture continues to lack any real flow. Alaba then tries to inject some quality with a cross from deep but Hendry does well to produce a diving header to clear.
14'
G. Hanley gets yellow.
Hanley goes in late on Baumgartner and the referee decides the foul is worthy of the first booking of the game.
10'
McGinn is caught late by Grbic and the referee rightly awards the hosts a free-kick deep on the left-hand side. After the set-piece is delivered, it is Xaver Schlager's turn to be on the end of a strong tackle, on this occasion from Hanley. As of yet, however, the referee has opted not to show any cards for either tackle.
8'
A second corner for the away side comes, courtesy of Tierney's blocked clearance on the left-hand side. Alaba, this time with the option of delivering an inswinger, opts to go short and the move quickly breaks down at the feet of Grillitsch.
7'
Armstrong pokes through for Dykes on the right but it is going to take a lot more quality than that to unlock the visitors' defence. Austria regain possession, as they have done for the majority of these opening stages so far.
6'
Grbic chases a throughball in the left-hand channel and Hendry sensibly opts to turn it behind for the first corner of the game. Alaba delivers but Ilsanker can only head over the bar from the edge of the six-yard area.
4'
In the opening exchanges, it is clear Clarke's team will line-up in a 3-4-3 formation, with O'Donnell and Robertson acting as wing-backs and Tierney dropping back as a third centre-back. McGinn and McTominay are also operating as box-to-box midfielders behind the front three of Dykes, Armstrong and Christie.
1'
Referee Carlos del Cerro Grande blows his whistle to get the game underway!

Looking ahead to the next 45, Clarke may send on the likes of Fraser, Adams or McBurnie to add some attacking impetus. Foda will have similar feelings as his opposite man and the Austrian head coach could look to players such as Sabitzer off the bench to change this game, which has been a fairly quiet affair so far.
That is all from this World Cup qualifying Group F fixture, until next time!
Scotland next face Israel on Sunday in Group F before hosting the Faroe Islands on Wednesday. Foda's men are also in action on Sunday, hosting Faroe Islands before facing Denmark, who are the early group-leaders courtesy of their earlier win over Israel, on Wednesday.
