R. Lukaku has scored a goal for Inter Milan! Assist by A. Hakimi.
GOOOOOALLLLL! 3-1 INTER! The hosts intercept outside the area and Barella looks for Lukaku in the middle. The Belgian forward chooses to dummy the initial pass on the halfway line, letting the throughball run in behind for Hakimi. The right wing-back races in one-on-one with Fuzato before unselfishly opting to play across goal for Lukaku, who smashes into an empty net with his left foot.
Barella intercepts outside his own area and moves possession forward through the middle. Lukaku's smart fake movement towards the ball allows Hakimi to drive over the halfway line as he escapes the attention of the Roma defence. The right wing-back has just Fuzato to beat inside the area but opts to play across to Lukaku, who can't miss from inside the area as he fires a left-footed strike into an empty net to finish this game off.
89'
A chance presents itself for Lukaku to volley from the right of goal and the Belgian duly obliges. Fuzato, however, isn't required as Lukaku's left-footed volley ends up nearer to the corner flag than his goal.
88'
Bruno Peres enters the game and replaces R. Karsdorp.
Carles Pérez enters the game and replaces E. Darboe.
Peres is the next of Fonseca's change as he replaces Karsdorp, who has been one of the visitors' brightest sparks this game.
87'
Karsdorp delivers another teasing cross towards the six-yard area and Ranocchia produces a last-ditch header to dive in front of El Shaarawy and stop what looked to be a certain goal. The Inter captain could have just saved his side's three points there as El Shaarawy was never going to miss from that range if he did get his head to it.
85'
Lukaku wanders down the right flank, acting as a playmaker to pull back for Sensi. The midfielder, however, can't control the pass as it slips under his left boot and the chance fades away.
83'
Young stands over the subsequent free-kick and whips his right-footed effort well wide of goal. The Englishman was always going to struggle from that sort of range to lift it up and over the wall.
82'
R. Karsdorp gets yellow.
Hakimi leads the home side's counter-attack as he races through the middle before going down, courtesy of a soft trip from Karsdorp. Conte's men have a free-kick right on the edge of the area to the left of goal and surely it will be too close for them to lift a shot up and over the wall.
Karsdorp, who barely caught Hakimi, goes into the book for his foul on the edge of the Roma area to stop the home side's counter-attack.
81'
El Shaarawy dances his way past Hakimi on the left-hand side before his cross gets turned behind for a corner to the visitors. Dzeko and Pellegrini were ready to pounce at the back post but the Italian couldn't find a way to pick them out.
79'
Dzeko finds himself out wide, reaching the byline on the left flank before drilling across the face of goal. Mkhitaryan is ready and waiting in the middle but Radu does well to intervene and collect the ball at the near post.
Minute
Description
78'
Villar spins and takes three players out of the game on the halfway line. The substitute offloads to El Shaarawy but his cross is poor and Inter manage to crowd out the Roma attack on the edge of the area.
77'
Gonzalo Villar enters the game and replaces B. Cristante.
A. Pinamonti enters the game and replaces L. Martínez.
A. Young enters the game and replaces M. Darmian.
Martinez, who came on as a substitute himself, cuts a frustrated figure as Conte brings him off for Pinamonti.
Conte makes another double change, the first of which sees Young replace Darmian at left wing-back.
Cristante makes his way off the pitch as Fonseca opts for the fresh legs of Villar in the middle.
76'
Conte's defence work possession from side to side as they bring some calm to proceedings. Their patience lasts all of a minute, however, as they carelessly launch forward and Martinez has no chance of holding up the ball.
74'
Karsdorp feels he is fouled inside the area as he clears away Martinez's cross for a corner. The referee disagrees but it doesn't matter as the resulting corner is dealt with rather easily at the near post.
71'
M. Kumbulla gets yellow.
Barella smartly flicks over Kumbulla outside the hosts' area and the centre-back catches him late as he stands on his toes. The referee deems the challenge enough to make Kumbulla the second name in his book.
70'
El Shaarawy draws a foul on the left flank and wins a free-kick in a good position. Pellegrini whips in a teasing delivery but Ranocchia climbs the highest to head away.
69'
Hakimi tumbles over, courtesy of a foul from Santon on the right-hand side. The Inter players want a second booking for the full-back, while the Roma players, led by Cristante, protest Santon's innocence for the initial foul. The referee lets Santon off with this one and allows the hosts to restart with a free-kick.
65'
Hakimi's introduction has moved Darmian over to the left-hand side, with the Italian now operating as an inverted wing-back on the touchline in front of Conte. All of Roma's play is being directed down the right flank, which is perhaps why the hosts made the change.
64'
Cristante lets Martinez know he is there in midfield as he barges through the back of the forward. The referee is quick to blow his whistle and the midfielder escapes without a caution.
63'
Fonseca's men have made the better start to the second half but still have nothing to show for their hard work. They did the same in the first half and Inter swiftly punished their lack of clinical finishing with two quick goals of their own.
61'
Karsdorp races around Dzeko on the overlap and the Bosnian offloads. The right-back makes it to the byline before forcing a smart clearance from D'Ambrosio, who hooks the ball over his own goal from inside the six-yard area.
59'
S. Sensi enters the game and replaces M. Vecino.
A. Hakimi enters the game and replaces I. Perišić.
Hakimi is the second of Conte's substitutions as he replaces Perisic.
At the same time as Hakimi's introduction, Sensi also comes on for Vecino, who scored the second goal of the game.
58'
Another Pellegrini corner comes to nothing as Brozovic heads away at the front post. The visitors' set-pieces have been predictable so far and it is surprising Fonseca's men haven't tried a different routine as of yet.
56'
Karsdorp fires a cross across the face of goal, where Skriniar manages to scuff a clearance behind him. El Shaarawy recovers possession, offloading to Darboe, who sees his left-footed strike blocke on the edge of the area before Radu is called upon.
54'
Darmian progresses down the right flank, taking his time to get his head up and deliver towards the far post. Martinez gets in between Mancini and Karsdorp but he can't connect with the cross, which is just too high for the forward inside the six-yard box.
53'
Martinez ends up on the floor, courtesy of a tackle in the air from Darboe. Roma play on, with Mkhitaryan's cross at the back post being headed away. A stoppage in play then comes for a Dzeko handball but Martinez has already made it back to his feet to carry on.
52'
Barella nips in in midfield and slides down the left-hand channel for Lukaku. The Belgian forward goes one-on-one with Mancini but accidentally stands on the ball, which offers the centre-back an easy chance to tackle and remove the danger.
51'
Ranocchia is required to usher Pellegrini away from goal as the ball cannons off Radu's head and goes out for a corner. As has been the case all game, Pellegrini takes the set-piece and Inter deal comfortably with the delivery.
50'
Perisic intercepts Karsdorp's pass inside his own half and makes it all the way to the other end of the pitch in possession. However, the Croatian falters at the final hurdle as his pass to Martinez is wayward and Mancini intervenes.
49'
Intricate passes up top between Barella, Brozovic and Lukaku nearly release the Belgian through the middle. Mancini is there to make a last-ditch interception and stop the forward from racing through to test Fuzato.
47'
Fuzato miscues an early clearance under the pressure of Martinez but gets away with it as he finds Karsdorp's feet on the right-hand touchline. The goalkeeper needlessly took his time there and nearly got caught out by the substitute forward.
46'
S. El Shaarawy enters the game and replaces Pedro.
Referee Chiffi gets the second half underway!
Fonseca makes a change at half-time as he sends on El Shaarawy for Pedro.
45' +2
HALF-TIME: INTER 2-1 ROMA
45' +1
There will be two minutes of added time as this game continues to be an entertaining, end-to-end affair.
45'
Martinez misses a glorious chance in front of goal as Darboe does excellently to slide and block. However, the chance wouldn't have counted either way as Perisic was deemed to have been offside in the build-up before crossing for Martinez at the front post.
42'
Mancini is required as the last man back for the visitors to step in and block Martinez's attempted left-footed strike. The Argentine found himself one-on-one with the centre-back, who did well to recover and block in front of Fuzato's goal to the right.
41'
Cristante's long-range effort gets blocked with ease and the loose ball falls to Karsdorp, who sees his attempted cross headed behind by D'Ambrosio. Pellegrini takes the corner from the right but Lukaku is there to head away at the near post.
40'
Mkhitaryan twists and turns, eventually crossing towards the far post from the left-hand side. Dzeko lurks inside the area, however, Perisic does well to calmly chest back to Radu inside his own area.
39'
Lukaku makes his way out to the left-hand channel and attempts to knock it around Kumbulla. The centre-back intervenes, pushing the Belgian to the ground but the referee insists play goes on without awarding a free-kick to the hosts.
37'
Martinez's first involvement sees him go down under pressure from Mancini. The centre-back, who has only just returned from suspension, dragged him down in the middle and he is perhaps lucky to escape a caution from the referee there.
36'
L. Martínez enters the game and replaces A. Sánchez.
Sanchez's game is cut short as he limps off to be replaced by Martinez. Just as one dangerous forward gets injured, Conte sends another on to cause problems for Fonseca's defence.
31'
H. Mkhitaryan has scored a goal for Roma! Assist by E. Džeko.
GOALLLL! 2-1! Dzeko wanders into some space outside the area and Cristante finds his feet. The forward pokes through with his left foot for the run of Mkhitaryan, who curls a right-footed finish from inside the box into the bottom right corner. Radu gets a hand to the effort but he can’t stop the Armenian’s strike from ending up in the back of the net.
Dzeko comes deep to orchestrate play as he receives the ball from Cristante outside the area. The forward sees Mkhitaryan moving into the box and plays a pass in between Skriniar and Ranocchia. The Armenian runs onto the throughball before curling a first-time right-footed strike into the bottom right corner to pull one back for the visitors.
29'
Sanchez hovers over the free-kick, which he won, outside the area before his right-footed strike gets turned behind by the away side's wall. The resulting corner then comes to nothing.
28'
D. Santon gets yellow.
Sanchez leads the hosts’ counter-attack from Pellegrini’s corner through the middle after a pass from Barella. The Chilean reaches the edge of the box before being cynically dragged down by Santon. Somehow, referee Chiffi opts for a yellow card and gives the full-back the benefit of the doubt.
27'
A corner comes on the left-hand side for the visitors as a cross from Pedro gets deflected behind. Pellegrini delivers the set-piece but the cross is met by Skriniar, who heads clear at the near post.
26'
Cristante threads a pass through to Pellegrini, who shapes to shoot before Barella ushers him out the way. Inter's midfield three are so tight together and, with Roma trying to play through them, they are getting regular opportunities to intercept in the middle of the park.
23'
Mkhitaryan has Pellegrini and Dzeko in front of him as the Armenian drives through the middle. The ex-Manchester United midfielder, however, gets his pass all wrong, which allows Skriniar to intercept on the edge of his own area.
20'
M. Vecino has scored a goal for Inter Milan! Assist by R. Lukaku.
The goal goes to Vecino with his composed right-footed finish into the bottom right corner from the edge of the area but credit should go to Lukaku. The Belgian forward latches onto Barella's long ball over the top, nudging Darboe out the way before waiting to offload for the forward run of Vecino to extend the hosts' lead.
GOOOOALLLLL! 2-0 INTER! Lukaku is the lone man leading the hosts’ counter-attack as he reaches the right of goal and knocks Darboe to the floor. The Belgian forward then composes himself, waiting for a run from midfield. Vecino arrives and Lukaku offloads to the midfielder, who slots a right-footed finish into the bottom right corner from the centre of the box to double the home side’s lead.
18'
Vecino wanders into the right-hand channel but his intelligent cross into the middle finds none of his team-mates. The loose ball falls to Barella, who needlessly attempts a wild left-footed volley which flies well wide of goal.
11'
M. Brozović has scored a goal for Inter Milan! Assist by M. Darmian.
Conte's men play through the middle, with Sanchez sliding out to Darmian on the right-hand side. The right wing-back isn't under much pressure from Santon as he reaches the byline and pulls a pass back towards the edge of the box. Brozovic is on the same wavelength, arriving late to place a right-footed finish into the bottom right corner past Fuzato to open the scoring.
GOALLLLLL! 1-0 INTER! The hosts work possession around the area, finding Darmian on the right-hand side. The right wing-back makes it to the byline before cutting back a low pass to the edge of the area. Brozovic makes a late run into the box, striking a first-time right-footed effort into the bottom right corner past Fuzato, who can do nothing with the Croatian’s placed finish. Despite Roma’s good start, they already find themselves a goal behind.
10'
Pedro makes progress down the right flank and his cross gets deflected to the edge of the area. Pellegrini controls with his chest to set himself before skewing a right-footed attempt high over Radu's goal under pressure from Skriniar and Ranocchia.
9'
Fonseca's men have made the better of the starts here, they are getting in the faces of Conte's players and not giving them any time to think or get their heads up. The question is, however, how long can Roma's high-pressing intensity last?
6'
E. Darboe gets yellow.
Darboe becomes the first name in the referee's book as he clatters into Sanchez on the touchline. The referee plays advantage before pulling it back and cautioning the 19-year-old midfielder for going through the back of the Chilean's heels.
5'
Sanchez throws his arms in the air after referee Chiffi doesn't give a foul on him by Darboe. The visitors carry on and win a corner on the right-hand side as Karsdorp's attempted cross gets turned behind.
4'
Darboe, who is starting just his third Serie A game, knocks Lukaku out the way before looking over the top for the run of Dzeko. Radu, however, is alert to the danger and rushes out his area to intervene in front of the Bosnian forward.
3'
Dzeko comes deep to get involved in play, coasting out to the left flank and drilling a cross into the area which cannons off Pellegrini and races quickly into the hands of Radu inside his six-yard box.
2'
Darmian runs at Mkhitaryan in the opening stages but the Armenian midfielder gets the better of his opposite man to dispossess him on the right-hand flank. Roma then keep the ball for a minute or so as they ease themselves into this game.
1'
Referee Daniele Chiffi gets this game underway!
Hello and welcome to live coverage of the Serie A fixture between Inter and Roma.
After securing their 19th Scudetto and ending Juventus’ nine-year domination of Serie A, Inter carried on their 19-game unbeaten run in emphatic style as they crushed Sampdoria 5-1. The hosts also collected a record 14th straight home win in Serie A with that victory over Claudio Ranieri’s men, which moved them 13 points clear of second-placed Atalanta.
Having gone through a rough patch of six games without a win, including the Europa League semi-final destruction by Manchester United, Roma bounced back with back-to-back wins. A second-leg consolation victory over the Red Devils came before a 5-0 demolition of bottom-side Crotone. The visitors sit in seventh, despite only winning two of their last nine league games.
INTER (3-5-2): Ionut Radu; Milan Skriniar, Danilo D’Ambrosio, Andrea Ranocchia; Matteo Darmian, Nicola Barella, Marcelo Brozovic, Matias Vecino, Ivan Perisic; Alexis Sanchez, Romelu Lukaku.
SUBS: Stefano Sensi, Daniele Padelli, Andrea Pinamonti, Christian Eriksen, Lautaro Martinez, Ashley Young, Stefan de Vrij, Roberto Gagliardini, Achraf Hakimi, Alessandro Bastoni, Samir Handanovic.
ROMA (4-2-3-1): Daniel Fuzato; Davide Santon, Marash Kumbulla, Gianluca Mancini, Rick Karsdorp; Bryan Cristante, Ebrima Darboe; Henrik Mkhitaryan, Lorenzo Pellegrini, Pedro; Edin Dzeko.
SUBS: Gonzalo Villar, Stephan El Shaarawy, Carles Perez, Juan Jesus, Nicola Zalewski, Bruno Peres, Bryan Reynolds, Borja Mayoral, Antonio Mirante, Simone Farelli, Ibanez, Javier Pastore.
Conte has once again rotated his side but still Inter find themselves ahead at half-time. The Italian has a wealth of quality on the bench, such as Eriksen, Gagliardini and Hakimi should he require them. Fonseca will be content with his side's first-half performance but he will be asking for them to be more clinical when the chances crop up in front of Radu's goal.
That is all from this Serie A fixture, until next time!
Inter, who end up 3-1 winners here having already won the Serie A title too, next travel to fifth-placed Juventus on Saturday. Roma remain in seventh place and they next host Lazio on the same day.
