The team news has been announced and we'll start with the home side.
Gattuso has been handed a welcome opening match against pointless Benevento. Roberto De Zerbi will be desperate for any sort of positive result to get his side off the mark.
Milan subs: Calabria, Silva, Gomez, Zapata, Abate, Biglia, Paletta, Storari, Antonelli, Cutrone, Locatelli, Antonio Donnarumma.
Benevento have made four changes from their defeat last time out to Atalanta. Gaetano Letizia, Ledian Memushaj, Vittorio Parigini and George Puscas all get the start today, with Puscas leading the line in attack.
Mateo Musacchio and Fabio Borini are recalled to the line-up in Gattuso's first game in charge, with the Italian opting to start with Nikola Kalinic to spearhead the attack ahead of Andre Silva.

HALF-TIME: BENEVENTO 0-1 MILAN
It has not been perfect but Milan lead Benevento at the break in Gennaro Gattuso's first game in charge of the club. The home side could have stunned the Rossoneri, but Vittorio Parigini headed wide of the post from close range. He was duly punished when Milan took the lead five minutes later through Giacomo Bonvenatura as he headed home after a scramble in the box. Gattuso will be satisfied with the lead, but will want to see more from his team in the final third in the second half.
FULL-TIME: BENEVENTO 2-2 MILAN
Thanks for joining our commentary this afternoon. Until next time, goodbye.
Benevento notch their first point of the season thanks to the heroics of keeper Alberto Brignoli. He came forward from the back for the last-chance free-kick and did not disappoint as he connected with a brilliant diving header to send the home fans into raptures. Gennaro Gattuso will be furious with his side for throwing away two points. Milan were poor all afternoon and even though goals from Giacomo Bonaventura and Nikola Kalinic put them ahead they were not convicing and did allow Benevento back into the game when George Puscas scored in the second half. Alessio Romagnoli's dismissal allowed the home side to pour men forward in the dying stage and they were rewarded with Brignoli's dramatic equaliser.
