A. El Ghazi has scored a goal for Aston Villa! Assist by J. McGinn.
It was a great pass from McGinn, who has had a superb game in the heart of midfield.
GOOOOAALL! El Ghazi wraps it up – it’s 2-0 to Villa. More awful defending from Schneiderlin, who is bullied by Wesley, who holds it up well and finds McGinn. The Scotsman sees the space, threads through the pass, and El Ghazi is on hand to tuck home through Pickford’s legs.

Keane deflects an El Ghazi strike just over. It would not have counted though, as the flag had been raised.

Villa are finding it easy to deal with Everton’s attacks at the moment, with Schneiderlin and Gomes offering little support to their forwards, meaning the hosts can defend the edge of their 18-yard box without getting dragged out of position.
86'
Ahmed El Mohamady enters the game and replaces Trézéguet.
Trezeguet's last action is to receive a card. He goes off, with El Mohamady coming on.

Description
77'
A. El Ghazi enters the game and replaces Jota Peleteiro.
Richarlison delivers the resulting corner, which is cleared out to Schneiderlin, who sets himself before drilling a side-footed effort over.
Smith makes a first change, taking off Jota and bringing on El Ghazi.
76'
Almost a costly error from Mings, who fails to clear a cross and causes panic in the Villa defence. Heaton tries to prevent the corner, but only manages to bundle it out of play.
72'
Everton may have four forwards on the field, but they are lacking any way to get the ball into them. Villa, on the other hand, are moving upfield in stages, with players offering passing options for Grealish. This time, he finds Taylor, who draws a rash tackle from Kean.
68'
Everton are upping the pressure now, with four players having made their way into the area. However, a promising move comes to an end when Gomes – who has had a poor game by his standards – prods a pass behind Coleman and out of play.
66'
A fast break from Everton sees Iwobi release Kean, who stands up Guilbert before playing it back infield, with the Toffees eventually forcing it out for a corner. Mina wins the header, but it is deflected just wide of the right-hand upright.
64'
A first involvement for Iwobi, as Schneiderlin intercepts a slack pass and lays it off for the former Arsenal man. He tries to feed Kean, but gets the direction on his throughball wrong, and Heaton is able to collect it with ease.
62'
M. Kean enters the game and replaces Bernard.
The other substitution sees Kean come on for his third appearance, with Bernard making way. It appears the visitors will switch to a 4-4-2.
61'
A. Iwobi enters the game and replaces G. Sigurðsson.
Here come the changes for Everton. Sigurdsson is the first player to make way, with Iwobi coming on for his debut.
59'
Huge appeals from the Villa fans for a penalty, after Keane blocks Mings’ header. There were no real claims from the home side, however, and Everton escape unscathed. Moments later, a slack pass from Mina gets the visitors in trouble, but Gomes recovers possession on the edge of the area.
56'
Villa try to go back-to-front, with Engels knocking it long to Wesley. The burly striker almost gets to it, but Pickford was off his line swiftly to gather it in.
54'
Digne delivers a good corner, which Mina rises to meet. However, he is surrounded by several defenders, and can’t keep his header down.
52'
D. Calvert-Lewin gets yellow.
Calvert-Lewin takes a heavy touch and tries to recover by diving in. He actually wins the ball ahead of Wesley, who catches the Everton man on the top of the ankle. However, it was an out-of-control lunge from the visiting frontman, who goes into the book.
50'
Great play from Wesley, who holds it up before slipping it wide to Wesley. He has Digne tracking him all the way, however, and the France international blocks the eventual cross.
48'
Mina threads a quality pass into Sigurdsson, who for the first time this match finds himself in possession on the edge of Villa’s area. He tries to play in Calvert-Lewin, but Everton’s striker does not adjust his feet quickly enough to take it under control.
46'
We are back up and running for the second half! No changes for either side as of yet.
45' +3
HALF-TIME: ASTON VILLA 1-0 EVERTON.
44'
A bit of a tussle between Mina and Wesley threatens to boil over for a moment, though the referee is quickly over to ensure tempers do not get too frayed.
40'
Richarlison does well to retain possession amid a crowd of Villa defenders and feed Coleman. His initial cross is blocked, so the full-back plays it back to Gomes, whose delivery is a wild one and soars out of play, much to the delight of the home faithful.
37'
Grealish drops back to dictate Villa’s play from midfield and slips a neat pass into the advancing Guilbert. Space opens up for the debutant, who decides to try his luck from range, but the shot sails over.
30'
Everton are just trying to get their rhythm back now, by holding onto possession for a sustained period. Eventually, they work it wide to Coleman, but he just overruns it and isn’t able to get a cross in.
25'
Jota has been exceptional in the last five minutes, and is making things tick for Villa from his role on the right. Everton have lost their shape, and Silva’s side need to get their organisation back quickly if they are to avoid conceding another.
23'
CHANCE! Almost a second for Wesley! A mistake by Mina hands possession straight back to Jota, who threads another fantastic pass behind Everton’s defence. Wesley races through, but just as he got his shot off, Mina was on hand to make a vital block.
21'
Wesley has scored a goal for Aston Villa! Assist by Jota Peleteiro.
Everton have been well on top, but their defence, which has looked solid this season, was cut apart easily by Jota’s perfect pass, and Wesley had stole a march on his marker.
GOOOALLL! WESLEY MAKES IT 1-0 TO VILLA! Well, Everton have conceded now. Grealish plays a brilliant quick free-kick, with Jota sliding a wonderful throughball into the area, with Wesley – who had just beaten the offside trap – keeping his cool to convert with a first-time finish.
20'
Sigurdsson leads an Everton counter, with the visitors flooding forward down the right. The Iceland international cuts into the area, but seems to be caught in two minds, and ultimately loses possession with a slack pass that is easily intercepted.
19'
A fantastic ball from Douglas Luiz has Keane back-pedalling, and though the Everton defender gets there, Villa storm upfield to maintain the pressure. They work a cross into Wesley, but he had drifted offside.
16'
Great work from Everton as they play out from the back brilliantly down the left – Digne driving forward before slipping a throughball into Bernard’s path. The Brazilian cuts inside and floats a cross towards his compatriot Richarlison, but there was just too much height on it.
15'
Everton have had over 60 per cent of the possession so far, but haven’t created anything clear cut as of yet. They are almost caught on the break when the ball falls kindly towards Jota, but Gomes gets across to make the tackle.
13'
A well worked corner from Everton sees Sigurdsson cross to Digne on the edge of the area, and the Frenchman sends a volley goalwards. It is blocked by Mings, with Richarlison then swinging at it. Keane manages to make a better connection, but Villa’s defence get it clear, only for the offside flag to then be raised.
5'
F. Guilbert gets yellow.
Wesley does well to hold off two defenders, but Richarlison then gets back to prod the ball out of the striker’s feet. Bernard breaks, only to be dragged down by Guilbert, who goes into the book.
2'
It looks like Jota will play from the right for Villa, with Trezeguet down the left. The Spaniard tries to force his way into Everton’s area, but the Toffees recover and break through Calvert-Lewin. He links up with Richarlison, but Mings gets across to stem the danger.
1'
KICK-OFF! At the sound of referee Michael Oliver's whistle, Villa captain Grealish gets proceedings underway.
Hello and welcome to live coverage of today’s Premier League clash, as Aston Villa welcome Everton to Villa Park, in what is the most-played fixture in English football.
It has been a tough start to life back in the big time for Villa, who are searching for their first point of the campaign. A 3-1 opening day defeat to Tottenham was followed by a 2-1 loss at home to Bournemouth last time out.
Everton, meanwhile, would go top of the early standings with a win, though Marco Silva will know it is far too early to be looking at the table in too much detail. His side were frustrated by Crystal Palace in their first match, but Bernard’s early goal proved enough to secure a 1-0 win over Watford on Saturday.
ASTON VILLA SUBS: Jed Steer, Henri Lansbury, Conor Hourihane, Ezri Konsa, Anwar El Ghazi, Ahmed El Mohamady, Keinan Davis.
ASTON VILLA (4-1-4-1): Tom Heaton; Frederic Guilbert, Bjorn Engels, Tyrone Mings, Neil Taylor; Douglas Luiz; Trezeguet, John McGinn, Jack Grealish, Jota; Wesley.
EVERTON SUBS: Maarten Stekelenburg, Mason Holgate, Theo Walcott, Alex Iwobi, Djibril Sidibe, Tom Davies, Moise Kean.
EVERTON (4-2-3-1): Jordan Pickford; Seamus Coleman, Michael Keane, Yerry Mina, Lucas Digne; Morgan Schneiderlin, Andre Gomes; Richarlison, Gylfi Sigurdsson, Bernard; Dominic Calvert-Lewin.
There's a scintillating atmosphere at Villa Park. It’s Villa's second home match of the season, but under the floodlights, the fans are in superb voice as the teams make their way out onto the pitch.
Smith will likely be delighted with his side’s display so far, but Silva has work to do. Everton toiled going forward and have looked short on ideas in the final third. With Kean and Iwobi on the bench, it would not be surprising to see Silva change things at half-time.
Everton would have gone top with a win, but Silva’s side got it wrong today. Their midfielders put in shoddy displays, while Everton look toothless in the final third. Villa duly punished them to claim the points.
That’s all we have time for today. Until next time, goodbye!
