We're underway at Selhurst Park.
Good afternoon and welcome to the live commentary of the Premier League clash between Crystal Palace and Arsenal at Selhurst Park.
Palace are sitting in mid-table before kick-off on the back of a three-match unbeaten run in the Premier League, alhough they did lose 1-0 last time out to Derby County in the FA Cup. Chris Martin scored the only goal of the game, while Luka Milivojevic was dismissed for the Eagles. Roy Hodgson's men cannot let the defeat knock them out of their rhythm in the top flight as a victory today would leave them one point off Sheffield United in fifth place.
CRYSTAL PALACE (4-3-3): Vicente Guaita; Martin Kelly, James Tomkins, Gary Cahill, Jairo Riedewald; James McCarthy, Cheikhou Kouyate, James McArthur; Wilfried Zaha, Max Meyer, Jordan Ayew.
CRYSTAL PALACE SUBS: Scott Dann, Wayne Hennessey, Cenk Tosun, Connor Wickham, Sam Woods, Nya Kirby, Brandon Pierrick.
ARSENAL (4-2-3-1): Bernd Leno; Ainsley Maitland-Niles, Sokratis Papastathopoulos, David Luiz, Sead Kolasinac; Lucas Torreira, Granit Xhaka; Nicolas Pepe, Mesut Ozil, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang; Alexandre Lacazette.
Arsenal have displayed signs of life under Mikel Arteta, although the Gunners will have a challenge on their hands this afternoon. They beat Manchester United 2-0 last time out in the Premier League to ease the tension at the Emirates Stadium, while they followed that up with a 1-0 win over Leeds United in the FA Cup. A third victory on the bounce would signal that the momentum is turning with Arteta in the dugout for the Gunners.
ARSENAL SUBS: Rob Holding, Reiss Nelson, Emiliano Martinez, Joe Willock, Matteo Guendouzi, Gabriel Martinelli, Bukayo Saka.
The Eagles have to come out in the second half and force the issue. They were off the pace for too long in the opening period and allowed Arsenal to gain the upper hand. Wilfried Zaha has barely had a kick in the final third and the home side have to get him more involved if they are to get back into the contest.
Thanks for joining our commentary this afternoon. Until next time, goodbye.
Crystal Palace are next in action in the Premier League away to Manchester City next Saturday, while Arsenal host Sheffield United on the same day.
